With 180 thermostat where should the temp gauge be?

With a 180 thermostat in the car the needle is reading in the middle or a little above whether it is cold or warm out and this is the same reading I had with a 195 stock thermostat. I know the factory temp gauge is not the best but I am just wondering if other people with a 180 run in the middle or a little above typically. Thanks

It kind of depends upon what temps you actually run at. Some folks with a 180 run right at 180-185 and others run at 220. So there is some subjectivity there.

As you know, a real temp gauge is the way to go. My stock gauge hangs around the middle no matter what. Once I get over ~210*F, it goes a hair past the middle.

Good luck.
