i checked the surging list that u guys have, i clened the iac valve and rotated the maf around, seafoamed it, put some techron fuel injector cleaner and 91 octane and the car still surges below 1k rpms. when i first start her up i need to give it gas 1.5k rpms to keep her on. after that it idles somewhat rough, not horribly bad but not like it used to. what can be wrong???? i dont have a multimeter so i dont know how to set the tps.???

Putting the air cleaner in the engine compartment is a BIG no no. It sucks up hot air and makes less power than the stock airbox. The uneven airflow due to the fan makes the airflow through the MAF unstable, which leads to all sorts of performance problems.

You guys with idle problems could same a lot of time chasing your tails if you would go through the Surging Idle Checklist. Over 50 different people contributed information to it. The first post has all the fixes, and steps through the how to find and fix you idle problems without spending a lot of time and money. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions. You can post questions to that sticky and have your name and idle problem recognized. The guys with original problems and fixes get their posts added to the main fix.

The proceedue to se the TPS is in the first post of the sticky.

i took it off the car i working a lot better, but now i got a sticking throttle body. its the stock throttle body but in my quest to make the jlt work i clened the throttle body with throttle body cleaner and now it idles at 1200, i can get it down to 600 nice and smooth but when i throttle the car it will stick at 1200.

Get out the WD40 and spray down the throttle linkage.

Pop the throttle cable off the throttle arm by prying it off the ball stud is is mounted on. If your idle drops back to the 600 RPM speed, the cable is the problem. If it is the problem, you may want to get creative in finding a way to get some WD40 down inside the cable.

See the "surging idle checklist" sticky on instructions on how to set the base mechanical idle speed.
