I would love to come by and see it when I get a chance...I'm still trying to decide on an engine combo for mine.

I think that a BB is too much. You can get more than enough HP out of a 351 Stroker. I am only doing this to replicate (and possibly getting my money back out of) the Super Snake offered by the Shelby Authorized reproduction company that is selling them for $200k+ . Just the wow factor. But problems do occur when putting this much engine and HP in a car.

And expensive...

Glass Install

I took the door glass to have it installed to a local glass company who gave me a good price. When I arrived with the glass and the frames with the old glass already removed, they agreed on the price of $20 for each piece. I talked with the installer and asked him to protect the pieces as this is an old car. The installer said "That is off of and old Mustang, isn't it?"

I left there impressed and felt assured that everything was OK. You could image how I felt the next day when I called and they said that he had broken one of the pieces. He broke the lower swivel pin off the driver side vent window.

Long story short, they offered me a $20 refund at their main office. I was asking them to pay for a replacement piece. While giving me the refund the lady said "You got a good price!" Then it hit me. The old saying of "You will remember the poor quality long after the low price is forgotten."

I fixed it with Silver solder, flux and buffing. Tried to break it back off. That thing is not going anywhere. I will finish the glass install myself.

The car is absolutely gorgeous keep up the good great work. That sucks about the shop heads proably would have been rolling if it happened to me.

Well, 15 days later and it is still not finished!!!!!

Only things left are the GT500E Stripes, driver door handle, rear light panel (I was told it was being installed as we were talking), rear quarter panels (shouldn't take long, I know they are finished but might not be painted), and the rear bumper.

GT500E stripes are on!

I was told (you know how that goes) this AM 4/23, that the car would be delivered to me on Wednesday.

He has to buff the GT stripe area, paint the inside of the doors, put on the rear tail panel, end caps, bumper (supposedly all painted and striped, funny how I am not seeing pictures of that area) and driver side door handle.

A pic of the throttle body & EFI Harness. Harness looks pretty intimidating at first. But once you go over the connections a few times, it is pretty straight forward. There is just a lot of it!

Bell Housing

Gret progress, Did you have any fitment issues with your lakewood bellhousing, All my friends who have installed them said the had to shim, and adjust things to get them toseat properly so not throw off the driveline. I saw a article about it in on ford muscle.com. I was just wondering since this week my TKO 900 and lakewood bellhousing should be in, thanks.

I installed the backing plate. Had to drill out a hole where Keith Craft put in a plug that was sticking out.

Then I installed the bell Housing without the clutch or pressure plate to check the transmission centerline alignment. Good thing I did. I will have to replace the dowel pins with offset dowel pins. It was .050 total off. Divided by two (center) and I need the .025 (closest .021) pins.

If you do not do this procedure, you can have "pilot bearing wear, main shaft bearing wear, difficulty in shifting, and in extreme cases breakage of transmission gears and cases".

I installed the battery box and remote disconnect, and got them wired.

I once was told that Unique Performance "glues" the PIAA backup lights in the rear valance. They can be mounted using the included brackets very easily.

XFI Installation

Installed the FAST XFI box behind the glove box. it fits pretty well back there. Along with all that electrical harness. I also Cut a hole in the firewall for the wiring.

And I finished the alarm system mounting, but not all the final electrical connections. For an old man like me, all that bending over, laying upside down, under the dash is tough!

I have been told that with the aluminum block, heads, intake, etc, that it has reduced the weight to about 650 lbs.

Where did you get that center console from? Did you have to modify it to fit those gauges in?

The gauge mounting holes were already there and fit perfectly. I purchased the console through Unique Performance. But I would rather have a non GT500E console than to deal with UP again.

Are you saying that that console is part of the Eleanor package? A regular parts supplier doesn't sell that?

That console is a Shelby Authorized part. Unfortunatley UP is the only authorized dealer for it at this time.

As far as I know, UP was goung to have 350 vendors selling their parts by early 2007. If they treat their vendors like they treat their customers, I can see why nobody wants to deal with them.

Shelby needs to re-think who they have selling their parts.
