High flow Intakes under stock hood

The engine it is capping is a 347 with a 150 Shot, custom grind cam, AFR 185s (maybe 205s)
What intake will clear the stock hood but flow enough.
I am doing a fox TB conversion as well.
I dont think the Trickflow box r or Victor 5.0 will fit under, and I know the spyder I wanted when thinking about boost is not going to fit.
I want to keep the stock hood, How much room can I gain from removing the underhood liner?
I have seen saleen intakes and like the Holly systemax II but do they fit? I think a Box type intake would be my best choice though.

TFS Box won't be close, it required a cowl hood on my car. The TFS R will fit with no spacer. The systemax will fit with no spacer. But if you run anything other than stock valvecovers will you need to use a spacer. You could get a set of engine drop mounts and run the TFS Box intake under the stock hood.

You can lower the engine down about an inch before the oil pan hits the rack&pinion. If you need more you can put spacers between the frame rail and k-member mounts. Spence Hart at Rhodes Custom Auto makes some engine drop mounts. Remember your exhaust will hang lower as well.

Seems like a Victor with no spacer would fit

From everything I've seen with the Edelbrock intakes ........
They allow just a little bit more room than the OEM and TFS intakes

Where you see peeps get into trouble is running VC's that are too tall

IIRC ... Mike (Low-5.0) runs one on his Stang ;)

It is a Windsor and I don't know if he is running the OEM hood

You could always go Fox VC's for a bit more room yet still keep a very
low profile.

I guess I wanna say the Victor would work because I got my RPM to
work with no probs and it would seem the Victor would be no taller
than my RPM. Of course ... that is just speculation on my part

Why not call Edelbrock and ask if the Victor sits any taller than the RPM :D

I'd think you could search out an answer since that is a very popular
intake and any size 5.0 used should not make a difference.

Good Luck :)
