Looking at a new car, what do you think

Chris, I didn't even notice the badges on the valve covers. Also, is that bracket around the alternator stock? The air filter is not.

it appears to be stock, I did a google search on the valve covers, and a lot of 96-98 cobras have them, and the intake emblem is also stock.

I would say if it is EXACTALLY the car you want, it's worth it. When I bought my cobra off e-bay, I had already decided the color, options, year and mods I was looking for. I just waited until THE car I was looking for became avalible. (Got a killer deal on it considering the low mi 8,300 when I bought it and all of the mods that were done. I paid $15,600 for it a couple years ago. Check out my page to see the car.) If it is just a car that caught your eye and not THE car you want, I wouldn't pay the BIN price. However the low mi. and limited edition paint are a plus and it looks clean. I would watch the auction and if it dosn,t go up too much it's proally worth it.

that carbon fiber trim was on my car when i bought my car. boy that **** is HIDEOUS. the stuff on my car had a 3M adhesive backing . that **** did a lot of damage to the underlying surface when i took it off....just FYI

Looks good and if the engine is in good shape all i would do is ditch the wheels, carbon fiber, and chift knob. I ove love mystic cobras. Especially termis. Very nice car. If your state allows find out who the previous owner is and talk to them. It could have been an old dude that just wanted to make it look good(albeit with poor taste).

I say go for it, mystic cobras are getting rare and i would definately pay that price to have a collectors edition car like that. There is just something about a mystic cobra i love, i think because you hardly ever see them and to know that the paint is oem ford paint just makes me drool over them!

Especially if the paint is in good condition, i wouldn't hesitate that car is going to be a gold-mine in 20-30 years...although im not wild about the wheels, i would put some nice looking 03-04 cobra wheels on it if it were me

i really dont think the rims are all that bad. sure they look like ferrari knock-offs but if you fill in the (smaller) space between the spokes its basically a chrome 95 cobra R rim.

carbon fiber has to go. i wont argue that point :D

BTW, ive NEVER seen that depth in mystic paint. the paint is beautiful

PS that driver seat looks terrible for how little it has been driven, notably this picture:

I'd hold out for the C5 or 6. I think you'd be very much settling. My dad has a lingenfelter 98 383 and it is freeeeaking fast. Plus that Cobra looks kinda kiddish. It has like hotwheels paint. Granted that paint is in way better shape then mine but compared to a vette I don't like it. I know you wouldn't keep it but the carbon fiber is also very hetero-challenged.

The vette is a true 2 seat sports car...already sits low, if you get a new enough c5 it has the heads up display. I'm not a chevy guy but I've driven both my Stang GT and his car alot and even w/out the Lingenfelter package his has it all over mine, and honestly I'd consider a PI GT very similiar to a 98 cobra.

Just my 2 cents :-)
