Build Thread My 1986 T-top Build - Lasting Memories

Sometimes the small things are just so cool! I got this in today from an eBay purchase. It was $45 including shipping. It looks like an NOS item, no box or tag though. My old light is severely corroded, this is a great find to me. Here it is next to my old one. The people I bought it from say they have a few more. It is listed as a "Vintage chrome adjustable auto map light Ford Mustang". I don't have the hang of pasting in a website, or address, or whatever it's called.....Hope this will help whomever needs it too.

OK, so I've bought my self allotted $1000 for the month of January. Got a bunch of FRPP boxes sitting in the garage with a couple from strange engineering waiting for their day to be assembled into the rear end. Truthfully, I may have spent a little past that.....Ok, so I bought some new tools.....that's not a crime....is it? I consider getting new tools to be like buying the kids ice cream. It's a treat. A dad treat. So not really part of the $1000 a month, right?

Next month, new water heater for the house and about $500 for the dang truck. I might sneak in a new FRPP driveshaft somewhere in the middle of that. We'll see, oh yes, we shall see what our priorities become in the next three or so weeks.

I painted the fenders Friday, last thing of the day though. I'll get pictures and post tomorrow. I did fix the passenger side rot today though. I should have brought more tools home from work. It took me about 45 minutes to fabricate the patch panel.
It's been awhile since I welded(I'm a painter for god's sake!). It took me a few minutes to get my brothers welder set up like I like. So no crap about the looks of the welds!
Attached are three photos, one with the new patch and the cut out rot, another with the patch welded in and one of the new patch and the floor with the rot cut out.
Why are my stupid pictures upside down? Anybody?

Here's the fenders painted, they're heading home today to go upstairs and take a nap with the hood in a nice carpeted warm room for the next three or four months.
Hey, look, the pictures are upside down.....

Oh no... You can't blame that on me! :fuss:

I have no control over the retardation that occurs BEFORE one begins posting images. :p

So seriously, how does a correctly oriented photo load onto this site sideways or upside down. It did it on my android and now my iphone. You should throw a "rotate" doodad in there so we can fix it before posting.

I prefer to see it as a marginal handicap myself, so what am I doing wrong? I've asked the people at work, but it is a body shop and we're not known to be a Mensa organization.

I've been looking into doing this. It's more involved than you'd think HOWEVER....

Watch this because I think you will like it:

Say I'm posting and all of the sudden I get the urge to upload an image. I know for sure the reason why I want to upload this image into this thread but the possibility exists that I might use that image again. Instead of just dropping a link into the thread like usual, try this

upload_2016-1-25_19-30-26.png

Hover over SHOWCASE until the drop-down menu appears. Right click on YOUR ALBUMS and select Open Link in New Tab.

Either create a new album or select an existing one.

Add the image you want to upload. Select the image so that it is the one that is open on your screen. Now, notice the Media Tools drop-down

You can rotate that image however you want and it will auto save.

Now, go back to the browser tab where you are creating your post and REFRESH the page.

In the post window, you will find a small camera icon

Click that icon. It will open a selection menu to your albums. The rest should be self-explanatory.

As far as you camera phone picture takers and weird angles etc.... That is a conversation that you need to have with your phone. Generally, cell phone picks should be taken with the camera side-ways and the hard buttons to the right. Auto-rotate should be enabled on the phone. I have found that with most phones, doing this will cause the images to be the correct side up.

I don't generally run from thread to thread fixing images that folks can't figure out how to upload on their own. lol If I did, that's all I'd ever be doing. :p
