Build Thread Eleanor Is Getting A Coyote Swap!!

Has to have return line, We used an Aeomotive regulator, here's a pic of the PCM harness entering the bay and exits to wheel well behind regulator, fuel lines all route through the regulator, find a good place to splice to the existing fuel lines or run new, the fuel connects to the fuel rail as set on the drivers side.

Ok I'll do the same then. I have nothing so I'm starting from scratch as far as fuel system goes I'm buying Aeromotive tank and every thing else that goes with it all the way up too the rails. I wasn't sure how you would route a return line to a fuel rail that is returnless . Now I see that the "return" line is routed thru the regulator. If I understood it correctly that is. Thanks guys! Learning quite a bit thru this thread!

If youre going all aeromotive that'll be nice, call and ask them about suggested lines too then, may as well make it 100% new if you need a new tank and all....

A lil update so far..... Almost done with the engine bay and it will be ready for Berliner or just satin black paint. Haven't fully decided yet. Just need to finish smoothing out the body filler which I ended up getting a flexible one so it would risk cracking. I'll be starting the shock tower delete plates as well. I will how ever be bolting these in with nice Allen head studs . I didn't want to weld these in since I believe it would be helpful to be able to remove these incase I needed to mess with the headers and what not.

Most definetly. Everything in my car is NEW! with all the time and money I have invested into this car It would just make sense to go completely new on everything.

Pretty soon I'll be giving Wilwood a call because since I put 6 piston big brakes up in the front I need to do something about the rears. The front ones make the rears look tiny!! So much like everything us car guys go thru...... You buy something then your there again buying another thing because you want it to match up better. At least this is how this build has been going for me. :O_o:. Funny cuz I bought this car and I wanted to just make it run good , slap wheels on it , and paint it. And look at me now!! Crate engine! Completely restored and sandblasted ! Custom interior ! Completely redone front and rear suspension and the list goes on! One thing lead to another and now the only thing old on this car is the shell it self hahahah. I love this project and what it has came to be.

Yep. My coyote was going to be a rebuild and top end, compared costs, long term goals for a car I've owned since new and Coyote won hands down! Along with everything else she needed....

I'll help you as I can as you move forward, but honestly you've got 90% figured out now... Keep posting and loading pics!!

I'm trying to get this thing on the road ASAP but having a 10month old and working long hours is a big hold back . I do what I can . I can't wait to get it running and then I'll drive it for a couple months . Probably around tax season I'll get my twin turbos or SC . Give a lil extra to look at in that engine bay .

I would love a fox body like yours ! With a coyote and just have fun with that thing. Does it suck when you need to smog your car? Or the control pack takes care of that? I have always wondered that since I never have to worry about smog with my car I don't know .

Too old for smog, you will need to get it tuned once together due to long tubes and modified CAI, Don't get a mail order tune, depending where you're located I may be able to recommend someone

Here's my engine bay

Here's my engine bay

I noticed that you used the radiator hose they provided (upper one) I opened up my box yesturday and one end of it on mine where there is a "clamp" made of plastic was broken. I was mad about that. Not sure if it's worth calling summit and having them ship me a new one. I think I can use a regular type clamp I'm sure.

That engine looks sexy! In that bay!!:nice:

Thank you,

just use regular rad hose clamps, youll also find the upper hose is a bigger diameter than what your old or new rad has a nipple for, we had the stock nipple cut off and new proper size welded on. my mishimoto rad is aluminum so be sure whoever retrofits it knows how to weld AL.

I also don't have a radiator. I need to buy a new one. Maybe one that comes as a kit with two cooling fans. Any recommendations ?

Mishimoto ** sells a nice aluminum rad (lifetime warranty) and dual fan with shroud for the coyote swap, you'll need to reference for your year car.... works great even at 100 degree outside temp last summer, you can also upgrade the fans later to their race fans when you go boost if you need the extra cooling... or one of the many other fan options out there, but I like the clean set up of their dual fan and flat shroud.

edit** crazy spell check its Mishimoto

Update!!!!! I'm gonna take a gallon of gas and drench my car with it and take a torch and let it catch!:uzi:. I'm just venting guys. There's no room for my alternator so I have to find a way to flip it . Also my headers don't fit and it seems my only other option are getting the Detroit speed headers which cost 3200!!!! They better give me an additional 100HP! I need to walk away from my car for a few weeks.

what doesn't fit about them?? [ I assume they hit the frame] any chance a BFH might make them fit.
I was watching an episode of engine warriors they took a set of headers and dyno tested them then smashed the tubes nearly flat and lost all of 3 hp.
