How many Robby/Robbie body work/paint innuendo's can we come up with?Robbie has nice body work...
So the door is now kona blue. It looks dark in the booth, I'll get a picture in the sun later on.
So, from red, to bare metal to blue:
I'm dying to see how it looks in the sunlight!
I just noticed how patriotic that looks, I am so cool.
One other thing, the body lines are just sooo freaking straight! It almost will be a shame to put the mouldings back on. Almost....

BTW, those pictures of the door in blue look orange peely. That was taken right after I shot the clear, it flowed out nicely after that. I'll try to show it tomorrow with the sunlight picture.
I did get the left fender's main blocking after the bodywork done. I will reprimer it in the morning, it'll probably be Thursday before I shoot it.
I was supposed to go out to the sy today and get the rear bumper and hood today, I baled on that. The media blasters called to tell me I could pick up the right fender and deck lid tomorrow morning. Those two panels will keep me tied up till next week, I don't need more right now.
I will drop off the front bumper with the blasters tomorrow though. I got it torn down today. Aluminum rivets are a really nice thing when drilling them out of a plastic part.
Finally got my headliner in today as well. I'll show it later, but I will include a picture of the box, just to have a picture for this post.
I know what you're thinking, with the condition of that garage, you're thinking, "wait, is that Scott's garage?". Huh @RacEoHolic330 ?

You found out that about the time the drill bit really starts bite into the aluminum that the rivet starts to spin - leastwise that is what I have seen happen.
If you have open access to the backside of the rivet, take a pair of flush cutting diagonal pliers and cut the rivet. Then have someone hold a socket up around the rivet head and tap it out from the rear.
The flush cutting diagonal pliers are expensive and hard to find. Buy a pair of dikes from someplace like Harbor Freight. Hold them up to the light and see if the blades mate their full length without letting light through. You may have to sort through a dozen diagonal cutter pliers before you find a set that matches the blades perfectly. Buy the pair that matches the best. Take them home and put the flat face of the dikes against a grinding wheel and grind it down until the beveled edge is as near gone as possible. At that point, you have a pair of flush cutting dikes that work very good on soft things like aluminum rivets. Warning! The first time you try to cut something hard, you will leave a circular dent in the cutting surfaces. The dikes will still be useable, but you'll have to keep in mind where the gouge in the cutting surfaces is.

When the painter points out the obvious, it doesn't take somebody with eagle eyes to see what he's talking about.
Look at the back of the door where the striker hits; and look at the reflection of the booth lights, and you'll see what he's referring to. (Now if only that was what I was referring to......)
I like the Blue,...And I'm thinking that the car will be stunning. I just don't know why you are ignoring Doby.....
What was it you said in your original plans for the second car,.........let's go back in time.....

I just am REALLLLYYY struggling w/ why that gorgeous red car is sitting, so you can make a gorgeous blue car....regardless of the glass in the roof. Now if you said that you planned to get rid of the red car, because this was the "girl of your dreams",...then I might get that,...but that ain't happenin............is it.

Hopefully this issue will be resolved by the time the blue car is driving.
I picked up my right fender and deck lid from the media blasters today. So, before and after
I wonder what it would cost for me to ship Frankie over to you what will probably take me a lifetime will probably take you 15 minutes
Shhpppffftt... favoritism. I don't want to know anyway.
