I am getting the mud free, i've used roughly 1/2 of a gallon of bondo on it. I'm not sure what bondo cost nowadays though.
Hopefully nobody else gets screwed like i did with this hood.

It's there in one picture.And i never got to see the metal shrinking tool. What gives man?
It has a longer electrode with a plastic handle, it has a slide hammer that the electrode fits through.
It's a multi use tool, you can use it to shrink large warped areas in a similar fashion as using a hammer and dolly, just go in a circular pattern starting on the outside of the stretched metal and smack it about every inch going in about 1/2" as you circle toward the middle. I think the heat from the puller helps a little to make it easier to shrink the metal.
It can also shrink down outies with a much higher current level.
So, another picture of the tool for Allen. See the blue box in the background? That's the controller. It has a ground that uses a magnet to hold it in place.

We hired another bodyman at work and the result is bunches more customer work to get done.
Kind of a catch 22 for me, i need to get the customer work done to earn the thousand dollars the car still needs, but all that work cuts way back on the time i can spend on the hood....
I do get bits and pieces of time though between coats of paint on the paying work.
I've roughed in the left side of the hood. I need to go back over the entire panel now to finish off any problem areas, maybe i can have that done by teusday. Then i need to glaze the entire panel, another day. Then primer.
Believe me, i want to finish it. As soon as i'm done with the hood, i can go get the driver's door. That's the last panel to paint off the car before i move Robby to the place that i can work on him.
So, i'm close, just how close though?
Maybe a month or less.
