Just out of curiosity how much have you put into it dollar wise with filler and mud? I'm sure you get a discount if not for free, but the lay person like myself would be halfway to a new hood right?
I am getting the mud free, i've used roughly 1/2 of a gallon of bondo on it. I'm not sure what bondo cost nowadays though.

Hopefully nobody else gets screwed like i did with this hood.

And i never got to see the metal shrinking tool. What gives man? o_O
It's there in one picture.

It has a longer electrode with a plastic handle, it has a slide hammer that the electrode fits through.

It's a multi use tool, you can use it to shrink large warped areas in a similar fashion as using a hammer and dolly, just go in a circular pattern starting on the outside of the stretched metal and smack it about every inch going in about 1/2" as you circle toward the middle. I think the heat from the puller helps a little to make it easier to shrink the metal.

It can also shrink down outies with a much higher current level.

So, another picture of the tool for Allen. See the blue box in the background? That's the controller. It has a ground that uses a magnet to hold it in place.

Aaaaahhhhhh....

What no updates, or has it taken you all week to sweep up the bondo dust?
Just kidding, your work is inspiring, I need more updates, you make me want to work on my car's body.
We hired another bodyman at work and the result is bunches more customer work to get done.

Kind of a catch 22 for me, i need to get the customer work done to earn the thousand dollars the car still needs, but all that work cuts way back on the time i can spend on the hood....

I do get bits and pieces of time though between coats of paint on the paying work.

I've roughed in the left side of the hood. I need to go back over the entire panel now to finish off any problem areas, maybe i can have that done by teusday. Then i need to glaze the entire panel, another day. Then primer.

Believe me, i want to finish it. As soon as i'm done with the hood, i can go get the driver's door. That's the last panel to paint off the car before i move Robby to the place that i can work on him.

So, i'm close, just how close though? Maybe a month or less.
