Oh My God!!!

It doesn't rattle!!!

It is freakin amazing,.I can keep my foot on the floor and not hear anything that even resembles a ping....

Can this be for real?....Was I able to fix this w/ a 15 dollar can of voo doo?

I dont know if it's even safe to assume that 3-4 octane points is what I got here, but the can claims it...and the Monster likes it..

So,...(as he rubs his hands together),.....More timing, or more boost duty?

The monster says he's game...for either.

Now that your rockin' the Melvin caps, what do you want for your old caps? lol

Do you remember laughing at my "Rocket Fuel " post? It cost$20 for a gallon of Xylene or Toluene at Home Depot. Toluene is already an ingredient in many motor gasoline blends and won't damage the fuel system. By itself, it is 120 Octane, use the math you learned in 6th grade to figure averages to determine how much you need to use to reach your octane goals

I read your link then, and re-read it again.
I didn't laugh, I said that toluene was 20+dollars a gallon..Even when using the link you provided, the guy was only getting 1.4 octane point kick per gallon used in a 16 gallon tank....

This would be even more expensive than dumping in the race gas I was btching about being 17.00 a gal in my earlier post.

I was also saying that toluene is not available in the Home Depots of the world, which makes trying to find it that much harder...

Problem fixed no joke?

That's freaking awesome.... you got that at advanced or AutoZone I assume... not bad.

Thinking I will add one of these to my tank while I do the no meth tuning for extra safety.

Yeah,...I can't freakin believe it myself.

I added 2 percent to the boost duty cycle....it was barely at 8 pounds at 45,...figure 2 percent will get me 9, maybe 10 And DL that. If it still stays clean,..maybe we can talk about what makes more sense after that,

My brother used to work for a tanker company filling up gas stations. He told me they used an additive to 87 to make 89, 91, 93, and 97. He said a lot of stations only have two in ground tanks. The octane rating can't be less than what you get out of the pump....but a lot of times its more. ( which is allowed ). At one station 87 and 89 came out of the same tank....they didn't even sell 87 octane...but the pump said it.

If its good enough for them.... Its good enough for us :nice:

VP has an octane booster that claims to up the octane about 8 points IIRC. I used it in my car the last time I filled up. Bought it at Autozone. I used to use that NOS octane booster in my 94 GT after I did HCI.
When I talked to VP about that, the guy in tech told me that their octane booster had lead in it, and was not compatible w/ o2 sensors, and catalytic converters ( both of which I have).
I'll continue working with the NOS stuff. If it does the job for the 10 psi I'm getting ready to dump on the monsters ass, I'll be good for a while until I get the water meth system installed. Once I get that system....ill have a whole new set of things to think about.

Found out that I had turned off my electronic boost controller.

When I was having problems with detonation, I got into TS and just turned off the variable in the settings. ( No need for 10 psi, when it rattles at 7).
When you do that however, it resets all of the " other" settings to a default,...And even when you turn the variable back on,..the other setting is in the wrong mode.

That's fixed now.

When I had it working before, 45% duty cycle was making high 10/11 psi, so I reset that table back to that setting. I've decided to take you guys along with me next time if I can find a tripod adapter for a smart Phone before that so maybe your ears can pick up any bad noises.

Now, if it would just stop freakin raining.

Hopefully, my newest phone won't suck so bad when used as a vid camera, and the vid, and audio will be decent. I wanted to see if the camera will help to discern if detonation is still there,...cause at 10 pounds this car becomes a little more demanding on the driver paying attention to the road, and not leaning forward trying to hear a ping.:burnout:

Most stations have a tank for 87 and a tank for 93 and anything in between is blended at the pump. 89 octane is 65% 93 and 35% 87. Do the math sometime and you'll see they make more of midgrade than the others.

Uh oh! I guess I won't be using that anymore.

I have 11 pounds of boooost,...I have 11 pounds of boost, and I don't got no Raa-atle...

Well there's a vid...but I can't get it to upload. 11 minutes of me stickin in my face into the picture while I get the camera set, dicking with the computer, and driving the car, and about 15 seconds of Wheeeeee. It doesn't matter though,....just as soon as I mat the gas, all you hear is the microphone being overwhelmed.

I did data log the 11 minute ride to work,...( that's how I know it makes 11 psi) I haven't looked st it other than that for inj duty cycle, afr or any of that other junk. But I can finally say that it runs so damn good.
