It as certainly gone downhill, but wasn't aware of the sale. I always liked this place better too... classifieds seem better over there however.

It's funny you mention the sale though. I live in the Dallas area and we used to have an extremely popular forum called www.dfwstangs.net that got sold to some big company from Canada. They pissed off the members so one of them with access to a backup of the original site bought the name www.dfwmustangs.net and literally almost ALL the members went over there, including the content. The original is a ghost town with no activity and the new one is still active.

That was a heckuva transformation wasn't it? An overnight change that shut the old site down. I know that you've been around awhile so you probably remember that the original dfwstangs was an offshoot of the corral. Badass car, I've followed your build up for several years now.

If anyone buys any IRS.... that's the way to do it. That's the best way to buy one. You get everything, even the e brake cables. Every nut and bolt.

That's a good deal !!!!

Mine didn't come with shocks or e brake cables.

That rear already has the cover brace... saves a couple bucks. You'll need to find an 8.8 pinion flange. The fox driveshaft won't bolt up to the cobra IRS.

Looks clean. I've never seen one in a car that didn't leak from the rear cover.

I still have the new FRPP differential I bought for Doby and a new pinion flange too, I think they’ll both work on this.

Isn’t it a different r&p set for this differential that I’ll need? I had a set of 3.73’s for Doby. If the 3.55’s that are in the cobra are still good, I’ll just reuse them when I rebuild the rear.

Stock on a 03/04 was 3.55 and that's what I'm using in mine, although I did have to buy a new set as I ruined the old one replacing the pinion flange and not knowing what I was doing.
Hey Nick, there’s a chance I might be getting that IRS this weekend.

I’ll leave here early so I can make it back up there for lunch. Maybe you can show me a few things about it if we’re not getting rained on too hard.

Sure thing, or you're welcome to swing by my house after lunch (about 15 minutes north of Kenny's) and see it on my car in the garage out of the rain. I should have the rear up in the air and hopefully the tank dropped so I can get my pump installed. That way you can see in person how it'll look on a Fox.

Can't you shoot him money via PayPal? Send it as a business transaction so you're protected that way he can hold it for you. If the deal falls through because he's not a man of his word you're protected and you get your $$ back.

Be sure to not over gear the rear end. I forget what you're doing engine wise but I made the mistake of thinking I was staying naturally aspirated and when I add my twin screw my 3.73 r&p became too much. Car is still fun but a 3.55 or even a 3.27 would keep me in boost a little longer and possibly make me hook better in 2nd gear.

Another thing is when/if you go to pick this up bring a pallet to set this rear end on and bring a couple heavy duty tie down straps. You can use the straps to attach to an engine hoist to pick the rear up and place in back of your truck. Assuming that the shop and lift is owned by the guy selling the IRS, he should likely have a hoist handy to make lifting it easier. Hope you have one at your destination.

Yeah Matt, PayPal definitely.

It has the 3.55’s in it. That’s as tall as I would want to go.

Pallet is a good idea too.
