I have that same shirt!!!I got all of my tools moved over to the new job today. Tomorrow morning I have to go through the HR stuff and hopefully I'll be working on a bunch of toyotas by the afternoon.
I almost forgot my rear bumper!So here it is with me holding it up to Booger. I love this color.
Congrats on the new job Dave! I hope you make plenty of money to support this addiction we all call a hobby! Booger is coming a long nicely. That color still hasn't grown on me but I'm more than sure the car will be absolutely beautiful no matter what color you paint it. Your skills are way superior to my color opinion.

Plus I'm shooting Sikkens in a production environment again.
Life at work is finally good again.
Despite and in spite of Mike, I thank God.
I almost forgot how much I enjoy my job. Just doing what I do, no worries about wether there's enough to support a hungry wife.....it is SO nice. I almost might be experiencing happiness, but I don't want to go too crazy.......

You weren’t in a production shop before dave? Is your shop a DRP for a few insurance companies?
I’ve been in production shops for decades Blake, I was just referring to the use of Sikkens paint in that environment.

Sounds like a good day and a good new job for you Dave! Congrats! I know the feeling! Back in March I left safety and surety of a paycheck for less money and a totally new gig....like apples and oranges different. I've already past where I was at the old job and I love doing what I do now. The old job was like a meat grinder, grinder up a little more of me each day.
It's raining here today and it's hot and sticky and just a shtty day to be in the garage.
So tomorrow I'm going to drop the old rearend out. Guess I'll haul it to our scrap metal bin at work.
I'll be getting after Booger again this coming week, the job front has settled down. I can think about other things again.

So I got the old rear half in my truck when I decided it was high time I hurt my back
. Really, it’s the rib cage on the lower left side.
Now I’m trying to get some help to load it the rest of the way on.

I was just going to toss it, but the yard owner said he'd take it. I'll drop it off with him on tuesday. Maybe I can get the tilt steering column then.

Progress is progress. Im happy your new job is starting off well, Dave. Man, looking at the underside of your car takes me back to a dark time in my life earlier this summer, lol.
Lol! At least the dirty part only extends to the front of the rear floorpan.
It's really not that big of a deal though, mostly I'll be lying on my creeper scrubbing it. That's not too tough.
Work is totally btchn', btw! I work straight through from when I get there till about six PM. Loads of work, they're happy with the five cars I've painted so far, it really doesn't get a hell of a lot better than this for me.
No more helpers either, my work is my work!
They gave me a key to the shop today as well. So tomorrow I can start earlier! Yay! I need to make money so badly right now .
And there it is........my success is totally dependent on me, not wether there is enough work, not wether the product I'm using is good enough, not waiting for anyone else. I seem to control my destiny right now and I am so grateful.
