Beers Of Stangnet

I picked up some of Flying Dog's K9 Winter Warmer (again). Since it's been so long since they last made it available, I couldn't remember if I'd had it before. Looking through here, it turns out that I have. Seems I wasn't crazy about it last time, and I'm still not terribly impressed by it. It's not bad...I'll certainly get through this 6-pack. The 7.4% ABV will probably help me forget that I bought it this year and I'll likely end up picking it up again next year. LOL.

Another Imperial Stout. Out of california this time, maybe you guys will be able to find it.

This is a very nice stout without being noteworthy to individual flavors. It's a full flavored delicious beer. I will buy this one again. Though pricey at $14.25 a six pack.

Fully worth it's four thumbs up rating though.

A 6-pack of the Cherry Wheat and a New Belgium winter sampler. I've always been a fan of the Cherry Wheat anyway so nothing really more to say there...the Fat Tire is, well, Fat Tire...and the other 3 were good as well. The Snow Day was a darker ale. All in all, it's a good sampler pack for some winter stuff.

One of our branch offices is having their holiday party at a local brewery this week. It's a newer brewery so I might have to go and check that out.

Here's one that sucks to me. I got fooled by the Imperial Stout markings on the label.

It's a sour beer. For my palate, YUCK! I give it two thumbs up because there are some people that like that flavor.

I don't want to throw the rest out so I'm debating which beer to mix it with to make it tolerable.

The holiday season is such a great time at the liquor store.

Great Divide this time.

I've always enjoyed their Yeti Imperial Stout, a very solid beer without being too thick like a Rasputin.

Look at the cool little cup that comes with it. The handle is a carabiner. If I was outdoorsy still, that would be pretty useful. It is cool though.

So I'm starting with the Chai Yeti since I have upclose and personal knowledge of their regular Imperial Stout. The label says it has cinnamon, green cardamom, black pepper, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla. Same as a chai tea I guess. No tea in this beer though.

My view is that it's reallly good. You can taste the vanilla and pepper, my palette can't differentiate the other spices. Not much to the nose, still smells like a regular IS. Which isn't bad, I just can't really smell the cinnamon or vanilla. I have spent the whole day painting cars though..........my snout might be a little less than sensitive at the moment.

9.5abv.

A good beer if you happen to see it. This is my first exposure to this particular flavor. I would definitely buy this if I saw it for sale by itself.

Just found the New Belgium Sampler!
The IPA is ... meh... it's an IPA, not my favorite. I like the Winter Ale, and the Mary Jane is good too, a little lighter ale. Fat Tire is an old favorite. :)
