62 falcon with Fox guts build

It had already been removed from the intake donor and was just laying there. I new I'd be needing one so I snagged it. I know it's kind of ugly but the nice thing is nothing is bolted to the timing cover or water pump so I can do my cam swap without removing the alternator or AC compressor.

See quick and easy. Well on the engine stand anyway.

Any guesses on what kind of HP it will make. Specs are stock 88 car block and pistons, E5 heads, 91 HO cam and lifters, 2000 ish Explorer intake and fuel system, iron exhaust manifolds, running on an 8LD ECU through a Painless stand alone harness. My guess is around 200HP but not over.

The tank is from FAS and is a 12gal. The cap came from Speedway. Got it as a package deal along with fill hose, straps, fill spout, and some other stuff. The plan is to replace the old tank with a spare tire well.

One step closer. I test fired it spraying carb cleaner and it made good noises. I need to roll the engine out next to the car so the fuel line will reach, connect the line and fuel pump wire and see if it will idle and rev. Then it's pull the 250 out drop the 5.0 in, weld in my prefabbed mounts, tidy up the new wire harness, mount the ECU, and drive it.

I have a 63 Ranchero w a old school 302 and 4 sp toploader. Front disk brakes from up to a 79 will bolt right right on. I got mine from a 79 Mercury Monarch. Also do the Shelby mod to lower the upper front control arms.....My Ranchero handles great for what it is.

Well the weekend engine swap did not go as planned. I have a couple of clearance issues that need resolving. I need to roll the rack and pinion back to lower the steering shaft, the right exhaust manifold hits the frame rail while the explorer upper plenum hits the brake booster. I found that a Datsun B210 booster is only 5 1/2" in diameter so I ordered one. I'll see if I can make that work. I know R&P brackets are out there and it's just some more welding after that. I did take a couple pics but nothing helpful to anyone watching.
