Thanks for the advice. I am using stock v8 motor mounts if it makes any difference. What do I need to get for the fox swap ?If you swap your steering rack to a fox steering rack (aluminium housing and sport ratio) you will have enough clearance from my experience with a "normal" 302 front sump pan. If it's still to close you can shim the engine mount just slightly.
Why do i know, i put a 5.0 HO in my car when it had the original steering and build own engine mounts. afterwarts i swaped to the fox steering and now i have a lot of space...
Any pics or info on the swap ?Thanks for the advice. I am using stock v8 motor mounts if it makes any difference. What do I need to get for the fox swap ?
Thanks for the info .You need offset bushing like this ones:

Beside that you need a steering rack. Should be one piece aluminium housing and a 2.5 turn lock to lock; on my quick search I just found this with 3 turns...
Beside that you should be able to use your old pump or buy a aftermarket one.
Because I build my own steering hoses with AN-fittings and fitted an european power steering pump, I can't give full advice about steering hoses.
But there also complete kits out there like this one:
In my build threat there should be pics about the steering rack etc.

What water pump and pulley system did you use ? ThanksI have a 1995 roller cam motor that came with the driver side dipstick. I used an early front cover like this one to avoid interference with the headers: https://www.amazon.com/tycardor-HT-D4OE6059A-Compatible-1979-1995/dp/B0CXXFGL2S/ref=sr_1_2?crid=6RIC5QU27E2A&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.yEzQ3mSxG7opy12ehVQkW-GGByN_1s-eWUaVpLInTHYnYZv3XmF5WSYd4HL3NriDYdnMd-rztk-wg49nLdpsPzGi6NXbgpNpCTAo9sn7eqPwedNRjaDvusO81a_yObSq2A2FE3MZ8G_7BFdfSEzx4HsrPV_iDeyg9qhm8fvNj361iBg1_kJoyQd0BI24A-GLUQYo2UOJyh7bSaIaniWALTSJ80rZYHZH0-3qRNnJYdOiuG8hm_VjK22JZv9iB825xP9KLSnKNEI3ybmHKQnxnCiBW0WA2nnGmGuuOj5tNOM.aWiV1NWLI9grcqaomEW9RB-c8FKWyX11zIw0wryV2yY&dib_tag=se&keywords=D7AE6059A&qid=1793021798&s=automotive&sprefix=d7ae6059a,automotive,150&sr=1-2
Be sure to plug the side hole if you use the early front cover. It just needs a small cupped press in plug. I think I used a 1/2" plug from NAPA, but not certain.

I used the original Mustang II water pump and pulleys. You should be fine with whatever is already on the motor you are swapping in. Just use the matching water pump. Serpentine pulleys have a reverse rotation water pump. What water pump and pulley system did you use ? Thanks
v8 2 pump and pulleys ? The 90 302 pump looks long .I used the original Mustang II water pump and pulleys. You should be fine with whatever is already on the motor you are swapping in. Just use the matching water pump. Serpentine pulleys have a reverse rotation water pump.

Yes. The longer water pump may be for a truck. I think you can get a shorter water pump, but may have to use different pulleys. Probably can find them in a salvage yard pretty cheap.v8 2 pump and pulleys ? The 90 302 pump looks long .
Changing gears , I can get a pair of stock mm2v8 exhaust for 250 on ebay or I can get a matched pair of 66 Mustang manifolds for 100.00 . Will the stockers be worth the extra money for ease of fitment or are the 66 not that much hassle ? ThanksYes. The longer water pump may be for a truck.
