Well I got the 82 GT in and stripped down and evaluated. This one is too far gone to save. Rust everywhere, floors, frame rails. Roof. Doors Gone. But it served my purposes because I got all the parts I need for the T-top notch
So I will be cutting this one up as well and parting. There are a lot of good parts and some NOS parts that came with it. I guess I’ll have to convert another one into a t-top cause I now I have another conversion

T-top conversion would be around 3k including the conversion kit.
paint starts at $7500 so ur looking at 10-15 area.
Hmmm, that actually sounds extremely reasonable, I'll start saving now. Pretty sure it'd be higher than that though as the paint that is on there is flaking off so it would need to go to metal I'm sure. Then there's the bondo I can see under the crappy paint that would need to be removed and fixed right in a few places. So I'll just assume it's gonna be closer to $20k. Would that cover doing a color change too or is your ballpark assuming same color not doing jambs and stuff?

I don’t paint them without doing the jambs. So it doesn’t effect the price. I take everything apart and paint it in pieces Because that’s the right way to do it....so everything needed for a color
Change gets painted anyway. But yes. If there’s a ton of ugly and bad under that bondo it would effect hours.

Well it would probably be about 2 years anyway before I could swing it, but yeah, the driver's front fender would be easier to replace I think for the cost and the driver's rear qtr where the back notch glass meets the top of the trunk, obviously has some bad bondo in there that has a crack in it visible from the outside and you can see the bondo under the trunk around the spot weld seam. That one will take some hours I bet.

Yep and you can bet if there’s that much bondo there then it’s hiding a half ass repair. So strip it all out. Get to metal...repair it correctly and start back from there. My typical day. Lol

Not a fan.

I think I see what you're trying to do there. :chin Some GT40/Monza kind of thing?

What does it look like if you take the pic form the front at about headlight level?

Also, just trying to imagine what the cutout would look like if you kept the angles from the outside edge of the panel:

I like the idea , different take on a heat extractor hood.
Leaves a nice area for some custom paint work to dive down into the scoop.
But i agree you will probably have clearance issues unless you cowl up the center section.

On a side note , I'm thinking of doing some custom work on my stock hood over the winter ( 393w )
Do you see a lot of warping from welding in the center of the hood ?
Steel is pretty thin in that area.
