Progress Thread “Rising from Ashes 5” 86 4 eye T-TOP notch build

On a side note , I'm thinking of doing some custom work on my stock hood over the winter ( 393w )
Do you see a lot of warping from welding in the center of the hood ?
Steel is pretty thin in that area.
You will get some warping. Actually it will just make some high and low spots but you can just hammer and dolly those back out. I actually didn’t get any from doing the heat extractor cutout. But then I did when I welded up the old emblem hole. Go figure

I’m just sick of cowl hoods and the ones for an 82 front end are ok but I really wanted to do something different. I thought about rounding it but the car, hood and front end are all square so that’s why I did it that way. But it was really just a lunch break idea and then some quick cuts and weld. But I need to align the front fenders, put the pace car front end on and then make the custom fabbed spoiler I have in my head for the car. Then I’ll see how the hood fits

Had some time today to screw with a hood idea and had a spare 82 hood so. Will
I use this? Who knows. Will it clear? Probably not. Is it cool. Definitely

Been there, done that... Didn’t finish it, lol. I like it, but I think you need to start the slope further back on the hood, and it needs a small lip on front that wraps and gently fades to flat as it goes back on the hood.

You could get real clever and do something like the "power bulge" hood from the 2010-2012 cars, but then you'd have to make a matching version for the vanity mirror cover.

Found these seats in the back of a parts car I got in. They were free...so im going to cut them to fit and make them work. Then I’ll match the front recaro leather.

Look like they fit pretty well how is headroom and room between where the quarter panels go big gap?
Actually not bad at all. Leg room is same as the stock rear seats. Hard to say side to side gap because the quarter covers aren’t in but I’m probably just going to make some. I’ll be using a late model interior, not foxbody.
