I can get my hands on a lincoln LS, complete car, is the engine in it going to be the aluminum 4.6 and would it be worth keeping as a potential swap.
i am a fox guy so I know very little about the modular engines.
did a quick google search (should have done this first ) and found specs that state the engine is a 3.9 V8, If this is true it's pretty much useless right?

It seems to me that if looking to swap the Lincoln LS V8 DOHC into a different platform then some thoughts should be given to engine management. I'm not aware of any stand alone engine management systems for this motor. So then the thought turns to trying to "adapt" the PCM from the stock Lincoln LS. Electrically the LS is a very different car from a 1999-2004 Mustang. Seems like a sizable task.

EDIT: I was mistaken about this being a modular motor and able to bolt up to a modular transmission. The motor does have an unique bolt pattern. I wanted to remove incorrect information from the forums. Thanks Hoytster.

The good news is that Lincoln LS motor is based upon a modular platform so another modular transmission should bolt up.

Not true as far as I know, the Lincoln LS motor is based upon the Jaguar AJ-V8 which is a Jaguar designed engine, not based on the ford modular. Bellhousing pattern is totally different and there are no options for a manual (at least when I was looking at it back in 2007-2008).

As far as engine controls, the 3.9 was electronic throttle body and variable cam timing, so you would have that to contend with. IMO, no worth it. If you want a small displacement 32v aluminum V8, and want to stay in this architecture, I'd be looking at mid 90's rover v8's to hot-rod. The AJ-V8 was a successor to that platform.

What I was hoping for was a 4.6 aluminum engine, like I said earlier, I should have hit the google button before I started this train of thought, I had no money in it so it will go to the salvage yard.
i really want a 4.6 I can put a blower on so I can keep up with steve and the frankenstang, I guess I'll just make do with the push rod engine and hope a blowzilla falls into my lap.
fat chance unless I kill off noobz or sell that 53 chevy pickup I was forced to buy.

I had an 01 LS and my buddy had an 04 and we loved them, great for the money and handled sweet being a 4 door with 50/50 weight distribution. Almost no aftermarket support whatsoever, though! You could get mufflers for it, a CAI, and a tune. That's it lol. I frequented the LS boards and I think ONE guy on them all swapped on a supercharger from one of the 4.0 jaguars since the motors were similar enough?
