recap: I have been trying to get some decent 60ft and 1/4 mile times all year. The best I was able to get was 13.43 1/4 mile with 60 fts times over 2.0 seconds, until today.

I had three runs total today with excellent COLD weather.

First run:
13.32 @ 101.66 mph with a 1.98 60ft time

Second run:

I knew there was more in it because of how bad I spun. I tried feathering the clutch a little more and launched at ~3000 rpms with 18 psi in the nittos.

I managed to rip off my first 12 second pass with a 12.95 @ 105 mph with a 1.88 60ft time.

Last run: (left lane)

Ended up with a 12.85 @ 104.66 with a 1.77 60ft time. I am very happy because I beat my prior best 1/4 mile by .57 seconds and destroyed my old 60 ft best.
I hope I can get to the track again before winter because I am finally learning to drive this thing.

Nice set up. A 410 gear would help you at the track. Whats your timing at? Have you ever dynoed? My car likes 18* timing and we have similar set ups. Don't be afraid to try 18-20* initial as long as you dont ping.

My timing is exactly 18 degrees right now and it's working well. I had it dynoed last month. 304.7 hp 319 tq STD

Congratulations! Its amazing what traction can do.

What was your trap speed when you went 13.4?

Thanks! Today was the first time I ever had traction. After I felt the first decent launch, I was worried I was going to screw up the run by missing a shift or something (like what typically happends).
The trap was 104.7 mph on that run. My best mph to date was 105.1

Your running good considering how heavy your car probably is. Did you port the inlet of that performer intake to match the 75mm tb? If not, that could hurt you a little until you port match it. Try another 2* of timing and see if the car likes it.

AWESOME! Its nice to see another 12 second car on the boards, especially a fellow PA. Do you realize that there are 3 12 second 5 speed convertibles on here from PA??? You, Ernan, and I... I think that's cool. Where did you race at? I know it was only in the 40's today, so the air doesn't get much better. I would have loved to race today, but my car is apart right now. Again, congrats!

:OT: Dave at Kauffman's is a great guy, isn't he!

BTW- Are you running a fox TB? The reason I ask is that I see you have an accufab TB and they don't make them for the 94-95's.

yes, I changed it over when I seen a deal on the 75mm Accufab that I couldn't pass up. I port matched the Eddie upper for a nice transition. I'm happy with it.

The track was Island Dragway- Great Meadows, NJ. Island Website (edit-currently upgraded) Seems like a good place to race but I can't really compare because I never seen another track.

All in all I'm glad I hit 12's before winter. It just makes me that much more excited for spring.

Thanks! 12.xx is a long way from the 15.xx stock times, especially that unruly 12.31 of yours.

Dave from Kauffmans kicks azz. I went there with the intention of getting a custom chip for some extra go. After the first dyno run he looked at the A/F, he told me a chip wouldn't help and I would be wasting my $ if I bought one right now. That's an honest guy. He could have easily "taken me" if he wanted to. So it's stock computer for now. When I ever "upgrade" my combo, I will go back there for sure.
