My house is currently falling apart. Plumbing disaster has not changed since Thursday. Wife has been sleeping at her parents house.
Kitchen floor needs redone this month, garage door opener just broke on the attached. My garage is a snake safe haven.
I'll be under the house again Tuesday in the lair of the snakes.
I've only owned the place 2 years now and it really is constantly something so I can imagine the sentimental value of a house over the long term. But if I remember, the new digs have a better garage right?

As is the case with mike,Steve,scott(s),Allen,Collin,you dave and a bunch of others - are miles ahead of any useful knowledge or experience that I have. I barely understand how a turbo works. Let alone two of em transplanted into something else controlled by an aftermarket ecu wrapped up in a tube chassis with custom cylinder heads and blowers mounted sideways with $20K paint jobs and adjustable shocks ......Cooling system or AC troubles- I got you.. Until then I'll chime in on the snakes and 'Like' what you all post :D :lol: :rlaugh::nice:

Besides, I love your build and I'm waiting to see what you do next. You already have me thinking about tearing out all that engine bay smoothing I did on my red car.

The stage you're at is beyond me and what I'm doing. I'm learning from you, just like I have done with Mike.

I'll usually comment on another person's recent post in detail when I will be using that information myself in the near future. Or I have some experience to offer that might be beneficial or supportive.

I remember what was posted and reference the older posts to help me.

When I use the like button I want the person to know I've read their post and can appreciate what they've done. Even if I don't fully understand it.

I've shown enough in my past that i'm an ignorant bastard. A quiet person can be considered a moron, but there's just this small chance he's not.

So, I'm there, I'm reading and appreciating what has been done

I can show you may extensive lack of knowledge in the future though, if you like, and let my brain spew all over your thread.:puke::jester:

My point (which was poorly made) was more agreeing with mike that I'm here for the BS'ing. I know enough of you guys that I enjoy checking in, seeing what everyone's up to, maybe update my thread but if we wanna talk about mikes new house or drunk bears and snakes, I'm game.

But mike puts a lot (maybe too much) work into his posts and explainations that goes largely unappreciated for lack of a better term.
But he does it for likely the same reason I do. It's a fun way to document a build in detail.
Even if no one else in the thread is on the same topic

I don't agree with the unappreciated part, just the fact that we keep coming back should say something. I, for one, can't wait to read a post in his thread whether its the house, the car, or correcting grammer, he is an interesting guy doing interesting stuff, a little ruff around the edges but thats who he is, straight up, tell you what he thinks and no belly button bs.
I am constantly waiting on updates on several threads here, but alas, I apparently have no life.

Unappreciated wasn't the right word.
He provides a lot of extra content for no additional cost.

Of course, like in real life, I offer my opinion too freely sometimes. But unlike some of you, I can't wait to get out of this house. My son is 16 and never has really 'lived' here. The ex and I bought this when he was 9 months old and got divorced 4 years later. When she loaded up and moved out, I had my bed, dresser, a love seat and a 32" TV. In a 2700 sq ft house. Empty space for days. When he was still little I bought a Michael Jordan nerf type basketball goal..I think it would go to 6 or 7'. We used to play ball in the greatroom with a 22 vaulted ceiling. But slowly and surely it's filled back up til 2 years ago when I remarried and now we're borderline hoarder style!

I get what you're saying about this being like hanging in a garage, but it's not. Other than my brother, I don't know anyone who knows how to change a tire, let alone work on a hot rod. As far as off topic subjects, especially politics, it's no bueno having those conversations online. Online people are much braver, arrogant, inconsiderate or just misunderstood.

It never turns out well. Everyone gets their vagina in a twist. I have almost been sad that the Monster is running. I used to look forward to getting online and seeing the progress. Lord knows there's no progress on my car. I am getting to the point of starting to think I might as well sell it. Which is sad. But it's all about getting to the next point...the house on at least an acre, with a Drew garage separate from the house.

Ahhh. Gotcha lol. I recently learned there is a floating foundation -figured there might be a drew garage too :D

I had to establish this rule when we bought our house. With more pushback from my wife's friends and mother-in-law than from my wife. But not a damn thing goes in my garage except my stuff.
It is my Alamo. I will defend it to the death!

The floating garage is when the beer fridge was full at 5pm and empty at Midnight. :cheers:

I am trying to hold onto my 85 two more years. My 16 year old will graduate and although I'll still support him through college, I'll be done with support. And now Tennessee provides free 2 year Community College, his college expenses are getting less. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel...I just hope it's not the train.

Let's ask Mike questions: I'm wondering if he's on the Kyrie Irving train and thinks the earth is flat. Does he support trinary gender identification? Single payer health insurance? Paper or styrofaom boxes at McDonalds. Sweet or unsweet tea? Memphis or Carolina BBQ? Is Elvis dead? If a Green Peacer is killed by a whale is it funny or tragic? Tom Brady or Joe Montana?

Jesus!....

What has happened here is what I was talking about again. I like to believe that we are more alike than different.

I can certainly empathize w/ alot that has been said last night,..MOF there was so much said,..you all got the extremely rare "mike like" as a result.
I've been there believe me. I've had the Divorce, I now have the great Marriage. I've had babies, now I've got grown men. This will be house #3...The wife thinks that there's one more to go........In Spain. I've been able to build a 40k race car in a little over a year, and I've been so broke that I've almost lost this house to foreclosure. I lose interest, but I come back around. I sell off everything, only to start all over again. I'm a registered Democrat,..but I have significant conservative values..and I'll always hate Trump.

When I post something there's always a question in there somewhere,..You guys would be amazed at all of the stuff I don't know,..and all of the places I haven't gone in the car guy world.

(I don't know what the hell a salt and pepper shaker is even doing on the car, much less what it's there for.)

I put "life" in the updates because NOTHING ever goes the way it was supposed to. The "life" part is there for you guys...because I'm so far from perfect it's unchartable.

Just like yesterday,...I needed to fasten the extended wire to the fuel pump to the underside of the floor. I used 1/4" rivets through a line clamp,..... (because a regular self tapping screw would be poking up through the spare tire well floor) .I thought that those 1/4" rivets I had were aluminum,.....(Ever tried to collapse a 1/4" rivet w/ a regular hand rivet gun?)....Do you know that once you start trying to collapse a steel 1/4" rivet, that by the time your brain tells you " Hey dumb phck! this is a steel rivet!" The rivet has crushed juuust enough to get stuck in the hole?

Even though the "objective" was to go down into the garage and add a single 2' section of 14 ga. wire to the fuel pump circuit.......the wife still had to ask me what I was cussing about. ( Cause her chair is directly above the garage beneath),....she hears every grumble,.....every "Cmon!!!!", every "Why aren't you working?", every "YOU DIRTY SON OF A BTCH!"

She won't be able to do that in the new house,.....My single car garage is in a back corner, well away from the living room,...insulated by a extra thick layer of fiberglass the current owner added to insulate herself from her guitar playing wannabe rock star oldest son...

So bottom line,....even though it looks like some of you guys have put me on some all knowing pedestal of car buildery,..I still do regular sht...The thing w/ my updates (as has been previously pointed out by Tanner @tannerc91gt, I tend to take a while to get to some of the finer points,....You just have to read to get to it.....Think of it as the prize inside the CrackerJack box.
So by all means,...feel free to chime in.

Mike, mike, mike. I don't think you're all knowing.

But you know a lot.

I was taught to respect my elders as well:D.

I don't ramble too much in other people's threads that are like yours or Scott's because people from all over read them and my wasted talk might be thing that brings your thread to its 13,000 page and be too intimidating for your average Joe to take the time to read.

In spite of your self proclaimed average guy bs, you have a lot of knowledge that teaches the sub par guy like me. Sure, I know how to paint, but you have been instrumental in lots of the knowledge I have for the rest of the car now.

So suck it up buttercup, you've earned a modicum of respect.

And now that THAT point is made,...I'm done building the car, but it's far from done. I'm gonna have to change some things.

The gauges are on a short list. Although I really like them in this car,..the fuel gauge tells me nothing. (and just let me run out of gas ONE more time...) The water temp gauge is ten degrees off (sometimes). The tach,...wrong, the speedo,...close,..and there's this green "Night Rider" thing going on all the time in the middle of the gauges that the gauge reseller (Summit) cant tell me why it's happening.

The noise!....The solution is for ME to add an extra layer of insulation so that I can keep the rockstar wannabe under my hood from diving me batsht crazy. I cannot hear the LJK,..and that, my friends is not acceptable. Dash will have to come back off and a sound deadener will have to be added to the firewall.

The gears. I don't like the 3.73's (They'll be up for sale right after the move, so pay attention).. I'm puttin in a set of 3.31's., rebuilding the T lock,....maybe put one of those diff covers that nobody can see on the rear.

The suspension....For whatever reason,..I'm gonna build, and mount a torque arm, and convert the rear suspension over to a 3 link controlled by a Panhard bar....Maybe I'll get a chance to drive it at Barber Motorsports Park one day...

So plenty of junk in store for this Monster,...I'm not going away anytime soon.
