Progress Thread 2.3L - crank no start issue. Has spark, fuel, good compression.

This is from memory, I think there are two wires going to the same post on the coil, one is ignition on while cranking, one is for ignition running, you may have to start at the ignition switch under the dash, go to veryuseful.com for ignition wiring diagram,

Thanks for the quick reply! So my ignition switch is OEM, but the connector is not. The connector came with the ford bare bonz kit I purchased from Ron Francis Wiring. I will consult their wiring diagrams and the Chilton manual I have to see if I messed something up. I checked veryuseful.com but nothing showed up except a blank page with veryuseful.com in fancy writing at the top. Thanks again for the info, y'all have been scholar's and saints! I will update with any new info I find out!

Likely won't help much, I looked, it covers V8 cars not L4 soooooo, back to looking, I have not found the thread on the Ron Frances wiring issues, got side tracked yesterday so back to looking.
Also if this is the build with all the grounds all together, same place, IIRC that was an issue with the RF harness.

Yeah, the RF ignition switch pigtail connector had way less wires coming out than the OEM. Going to try separating them to different pins, instead of having them all ran off of just a few like it was set up by RF. Hopefully it works, I will keep y'all posted!

Which harness did you get and do you have the wiring diagram for the harness? Also, what items were used out of the Mustang building the buggy? Steering column, dash harness, etc? Only asking so we know what the RF harness is trying to marry up to.

I got the bare bonz kit for fords (BB-78, only one that would fit in the available space). I have RF sending me another copy of the diagrams (cant find originals, probably lost them during my last move, I'll post the RF ones when I get them)

Oem mustang parts used:
Engine
Transmission/shifter
Driveshaft/diff
Steering column/rack n pinion
Pedals
Brakes/suspension
It originally had the OEM harness/fuse box but those got destroyed by sun, weather, time, and some rodents. It did run with the OEM harness before it got destroyed, it was just a messy clusterf*ck with a bunch of excess wire in a bundle with the fuse box resting on top of the wire bundle

Fuel injectors and EGR have oem harness still, all the rest were rebuilt by me or the RF kit

Gauges are from glowshift (harness included/used)

So I tried searching for posts about rf harnesses on here and all I came up with were people talking about all the issues and how cr*ppy rf is. Is there a better company to go with? I'm about ready to rip the rf out and burn it lol I've never had a harness give me such trouble/headaches especially after following the directions to the T

So after separating the ignition switch wires and correcting the second coil pack's spark plug wires I was able to successfully get the car started and running for about 2-3 seconds jumping the starter off the solenoid multiple times. It sounds good when it's running. (recorded a sound clip on my phone but it won't let me upload it here) but I still get no pulses when using just the key. Getting closer to the finish line but still a ways off.

Alright, got the diagrams from RF today but they're pdf's and apparently can't be uploaded here . I haven't had a chance to review them, exhausted from my 60 mile round trip on my bike to my second job. If I don't pass out I will check them out tonight and see what I find.

Okay, so you got a bare bonz kit and not one for the fuel injection. I do not know if they make one for the four cylinder injection but I would have been more prone to try and make the V8 injection harness work with the 4 cylinder than this.

You are going to need the Ford wiring diagrams for the 1993 4 cylinder to marry these two together and get this working. Am I correct in assuming you do not have them?

Here are the rest

I double checked on the rf site, they had options for fuel injected no distributor bare bonz which was what I thought I had got. Otherwise it would've been a kit for the 2.3 turbo which I don't have
