Hi guys I R The n00bie. Im getting a 93 Mustang LX is only got 61k on it and its all orignal except flowmaster. I have set aside 2500 dollars for stuff cause i know im gonna get bit by the "bug." I wanna get stuff but not sure what to get, I know that i dont care about the pretty stuff i may get wheels later but i want the 2500 to be on performce. I dont to be a balls to the wall project car or anything just want to run with anything that pulls up beside me on the street that stock. Please let me know your sugestions and what you would do. Hey noobie, you asked for ideas, and he gave you one. Don't boooo... him for his advice, it's what you asked for. Second it was good advice. There's nothing wrong with building a good foundation that can handle what you put on later. Unless you want to blow your wad on a blower, and either sit and spin your tires all day which is cool, but gets you nowhere, or break a car that isn't setup right. Start with the basics.

start small and go from there..the items stated above are the foundation that are needed to be able to make use of the power you want. Add up the $$ that gears and install, combined with a short throw shifter, throw in the exhaust, subframe connectors, pullies.. an you now at 1000$ or damn near. Now you have 1500...with that you can look at a set of GT40 heads and a decent intake..if there's anything left I'd then look at a cam and maybe some fuel upgrades. Any leftover cash should be put aside..cause if there's one thing I've learned..it's moded stangs take a little more TLC than I first thought.

Good suggestions, U can get pullies for under $100 so keep an eye out for deals, I had MACs and they are good, about 70 bux, also try to find used parts. Id also either go for a cobra intake or skip the mass air meter/throttle body and get a used nitrous kit. Also keep an eye out for used parts, that will save you alot.

Don't chop that car up. It sounds nice. If you want to get more than what Maverick suggested for $2,500, turn your own wrenches. Personally, I would save my money for a while until you develop a plan for what you want to do with the car. Even though you might think you know, you should wait until you get the car and see how you like it. Don't forget, there are stock cars running 12's out there, so don't get expect to beat anything on the street for $2,500.

I would get a vortech, yeah you don't have supporting mods, and your car is stock, but the kit comes with everything you need to run on a stock motor. Keep the boost down, try to get a good tune, and it will be a great for future mods. Thats just my opinion though. I'm saving for a vortech now, if I could do it again, would have done the blower route first.

I would get the Trick Flow Track Heat package from summit. For $2,099 its a steal. Comes with heads, cam, timing chain, roller rockers, push rods, valve covers, intake, gaskets. with the rest of the money you can upgrade the fuel system.
I'd hold off on the expensive mods for just a little while and just drive the car for a few months and iron out any bugs before investing money into the car. It doesn't help much that you spend $1000 on a whole new exhaust system and come to find you should have replaced the cooling system first as now the rads sprung a leak and is all plugged up. For myself, I drove mine for 6 months before spending on a new paint job.

Then, I always seem to have cooling issues, so I flush the radiator and replace all the hoses. Then just drive it around and see if anything is noticeable.... like tires, brakes, suspension etc.

pay your insurance, and if youve got cash left, pay for some of mine.Here's what i would do: gears, trak Loc rebuild, subframes & torque boxes, shifter, H/Xpipe, headers, alt, electric fan, manual rack steering.(little above 1500).
The grand left over...go buy a sportsman block and have it machined .30 over. Then start saving for a 331 or 347 stroker/heads/cam/intake(rest of the bs). Takes a lot longer. Your car(61k) sounds strong as it is now, why mess with it.
