I did a search and never could find the answers I needed, so could you guys post pics and give me info on fitting 295/ 50 r15 tires on my 8 inch 5.5bs pro stars?
This will be for thr rear of my sons 87 lx hatch. (5 lug)

Would we need to use 1/4 or 1/8 spacers?

"Tweak " the inner wheel wells?

Will the fender lips need to be modified at all?

Pics would be really helpful. Thanks Alot.

Are you dead set on 295's, because I bet you will have rubbing issues, and they will look like crap on an 8 inch wheel, you will have about 2 inches of tire bulge on each side and it will make the car feel very boaty while driving it, I would go with a 275/50/15 at most.
Also are you wanting that tire for street or for the track?

my personal experience is this.......295's will rub inside, and the lip when turning. The 295 looks too big for a 8 inch wheel. I have used 275/50 on four different 5.0's.....they look great, I even put them on my 48 Desoto I just built (with a 8 inch rim)......you will have to massage the inner with the 5.5 bs, but will not rub the outter lip.....also you won't be able to run the quad shock, if they are still around.....
