There was collateral damage, the belt whipped the washer reservoir when it broke.
So its broke now too.

combined with some white zip ties to use as filler material will fix that if you can't locate a replacement.

But bid on one on fleybay for 19$ but bidding took it over 55$ plus more for shipping shipping
so maybe plastic welding. the tank has spider web cracking from age though.

Depending on the severity, you might be able to plastic weld that too. I got good at it when I worked for Carmax.

I read a really old post in some thread here that talked about using Never Dull to clean on the mutt2 steering wheel.
First pic, can you tell which two spokes are cleaner. Yeah not to great, but better and the pits show a little less.

I couldn't get the flux wire feed welder to weld on this thin tin
Just burned up.
So I brassed new bolting tabs on
Then the only high temp paint i got is blue (i know they is supposed to be black but this car got alot of black on it"

Found some more of original heat shield still bolted to manifold and a wave washer.

Then found a burned SP boot. Went and dug around garage till i found a replacement and back in businesses .
Heat shield installed and its close to battery.

Power steering belt broke and killed the washer tank.

I looked online for a washer tank and bid one to 30$ before giving up.
It sold for 55 plus shipping

But FleaBuy tracks your actions and proffered another chance.

bid to 16$ plus 14$ shipping. On my doorstep for pennies less than 30$
Good enough.

There comes a time to do what ya got to do.
So we masked it up.
With the moon in the sky, the son painted the deck lid stripe.
Yes in the driveway.

Doing the spoiler separate.
The hardner for this can of gold paint got hard yrs ago so we cut it with lacquer thinner and just did it.
Some of the black pulled off with the tape but it is under the spoiler

It kind of looks like it was painted in the driveway, but whatever.
Then we drove it sans spoiler and got some ice-cream.
Let that paint dry at speed
Same can of gold with 8 yrs between uses so not a great match.
But its done finally.

Want to put spoiler back on, but half the mounting studs are broken again.

The urethane repair kit was wimpy as to its ability to hold the studs in place.
So on to 5 min epoxy and glue em on again. Glue them, clamp them, tape them, just do something to make it work.
Should buy a fiberglass one cuze this one grows and shrinks so much in the sun.

Put that spoiler on and just took up slack on bolts, no tightening. Hope it lasts another year.

Look how nice the new paint beads up those rain drops

This is what we used at Carmax for repairs on plastic/fiberglass/urethane/etc.

It is INSANELY strong once cured, and sandable and paintable as well when the situation calls for it. I've seen cars with spoilers that were repaired with this stuff minutes before go through the car wash without issues. I've used it to fabricate missing tabs on interior plastics and plastic bumpers out of thin air.

I had the same issue with the mounting studs and used a 2 part epoxy similar to what @74stang2togo just mentioned. I even tried Gorilla Glue, but I couldn't tell you now if that actually worked or not and I had to use the epoxy afterward. But the 2 parter seems the better way to go.

I don't think anything will hold with how much this spoiler curls and flattens everyday

I think the 3M stuff is probably far superior to the 5 min epoxy i used
