2Blue2's 1977 Cobra2 Driveway Build

Well all the cylinders look like puddles were present.
Vally looked clean

Upper steam hole #1 was plugged with a chunk of rust. By lifter at bottom.
Steam hole by top lifter is open.

Upper Cylinder head bolt between #1 and #2 seemed loose too feeling more like 30 ft lbs than 70.
Wonder if thats the culprit?
Cant find a crack in head or block.
Gonna finish cleaning up this side now.

That 60 year old lifter valley looks pretty good though!

I imagine it got hot tanked at least once when the crank got 10/10

After trying to scrub rust from cylinder walls with oil and paper towels its almost back together.
Hey it rained again, its the monsoon season and all.

I Had a hard time getting distributor in and back on oil pump drive rod, but we packed a little grease around drive rod to hold it in center an then son got er done.
I don't ask but he just come an helps out when it the Cobra,
but been driving his mothers car alot this last summer, something about its Fricken Hot, busted window handles, and no AC... IDK.
Rainbow from other direction than the usual. Took tarp I was working under, off frame for this picture.

Blue Skies, Cobra, and Rainbows!

New radiator has arrived.
Got a welded tank. Don't really like that look.
Bought a can of black radiator paint and one of them sacrificial anode radiator caps.
You know it needs both.

Looks like the right brackets are on it. I'll get a better comparison on the swap.

Onto the problem;
Filled old radiator up with water. Car runs good but blows white cloud and pushes fluid out of radiator before getting warm.
New head gasket didn't help. Still putting combustion pressure in cooling system.
Afraid head or block must be cracked/warped... Dang 60 yr old block, was supposed to last forever.

Not sure of next step.
take apart and do dye test?
craig list v8?
Fresh long block from parts store?
Rebuild original number matching block in garage?
Other ideas?
