That is the correct schrader valve for sure. Scour marketplace and use car-parts.com if needed to source it. Has to be a ton of stock rails out there.
as for bending, it's just the bracket that is bending not the rail. It might have lost it's mojo but it really seems like something else is going with fuel pressure not relieving to me b/c it's not happening when driving - all 3 times we found the leak was in the garage after driving it and it sits.
I've got one in my inventory but would prefer not to separate it from the manifold, typically people want them together... These cars are getting older so finding a perfect one is tough and they sell for a premium from what they did that's a fact: https://ebay.io/m/8DyQCGI see what you are saying. Once that metal starts bending, it does weaken. Mine is more of a 90 degree Z-bend there, so from your pic it does look like the rail is already compromised.
47 psi (the max you saw) inside the rail equals about 8 lbf at each injector of upwards force assuming a 0.180" opening into the injector.
Took a peek on Ebay and was surprised to see how few 4.6L fuel rails there were. I did see a couple at $100-150.
I warned you it was a special orderso i can't get this analog gauge to read any fuel pressure. I took the core out of the valve and it didn't help. The gauge DOES work on my chevy just fine. So something is not happy about this ford adapter that came with it. I'm going to see if I can borrow a ford style gauge at work tomorrow (one without an adapter) Very perplexing why it reads nothing. I may also pick up a rail over the weekend if they still have it.
I warned you it was a special order.... ONLY FORD!!!... It won't be any different than the the sensor OBD reading unless the sensor is bad, face it that isn't the issue because it was DEAD SPOT ON....

100% agree.... My point was over the adapter issue, it is a VERY special order adapter.... Sadly....Kinda' like the 3V old style plugs for compression, except finally some caught on if it's DELUXE hahahahaThat's the point. If the sensor is bad, then it would cut off fuel at the wrong point (high or low). The ECU wouldn't know the difference, it can only act on what it's told.
Typically, it wouldn't be this tough but eh...
I think everybody should have a FP gauge.![]()
I can't imagine any scenario where shutting off the car spikes fuel pressure that doesn't involve a check valve issue or backflow problem downstream. If I can remember i'll hook up my scan tool and see what mine does when i shut off the pump. But with the pump off, pressure shouldn't rise. That could be a false number based on the fuel pressure sensor losing voltage when the engine goes off, and the scanner interpreting that value as higher pressure.
It 100% does what I said before UNLESS the sensor is bad WITH a good reading, like getting hit by lightning twice in the same day....do you have a link to the Ford adapter so I can order? - i tried another gauge at work that had the 'adapter' in the box and no luck.
i drove it 25 mins this morning and watched the fuel pressure when I could glance at it - it stayed from 37-42 the whole drive. Doesn't this confirm the FRPS is fine?
Good find....do you mean something like this? https://www.amazon.com/gradora-Injection-Pressure-Adapter-Replacement/dp/B09XBFM1Y9
Look at that Amazon listing skidad shared, it will be a great deal and the fastest delivery for you if you insist on having it.... COUGH COUGH buy a new fuel rail....It 100% does what I said before UNLESS the sensor is bad WITH a good reading, like getting hit by lightning twice in the same day....

I just noticed your prior post, when you kill the engine that reading can't be trusted especially if it just sits @90... NO WAY!!!... Unless when you shut the motor off is when the rail pops off, NO WAY....I'm pretty sure my pump check valve is stuck - when I shut off the engine with scanner attached it jumps up to 90 psi in about 30 seconds - i'm heading somewhere but will post pictures later. i ordered that amazon part as well to verify with analog gauge tomorrow.
I missed your prior post, just replied, it isn't reading motor off...Holed up my scan tool. Runs about 40psi with engine running. Couple spikes to high 40s
Engine off, drops to 36 and just slowly drops from there. Nothing I do shows any spike to 90psi
