Yeah, the YSi is definitely the way to go if you want big power. I just think it's more than I need. You can find used S-trims for cheap, and I know they can support the power I want. A friend of mine made well over 600rwhp with one, but I think it peaked around 580-600 before he added meth injection. I'm just afraid that even with 6# on my car it will be pushing it's efficiency range and blowing hot air, which I definitely don't want with 10.5:1 CR.

None of this really matters anyways because I can't afford any mods for a while.

Its not like you really need it... heh.

That's quite a motor you got there. Mind if I ask what it set you back after all said and done?

Digging through my old build pics and found this one... I call it progression, from right to left.

Forge recirc valve used on my stock motor with stock SQ-trim kit... 8lbs of boost.

Greddy BOV used on Stock long block and pro products intake, lots of bolt ons... 13 to 15lbs of boost.

Finally Vortech Maxflow bv57 BOV... used on the big motor at 10lbs. Vents through the hole in the hood... makes for lots of double takes.

A 200 shot from a plate would be better.

Thats why you get a Uhaul trailer full of fresh bottles and pull it behind your car.

Drives great

No bucking, no stalling, Idles rock solid. I have been tinkering with the tune on the car for a long time. AEM and data logging works.

That's good to hear b/c that's how I want my 408 to run. I know it comes down a lot to the combo but Im not doing anything to radical but it should pull north of 400 at the wheels which is what Im looking for. 1 HP per Cubic Inch would be nice.

Right on.

It more comes down to the combo AND the tune. Find a reputable tuner near you and see what they have the most experience in. Or tune it yourself and really learn about your car. The problem with that route is you will get frustrated at times. The tune will make or break your enjoyment of the car.

my 331 w/ YSI added about 100 hp+ with meth injection, it cooled the intake temps down over 100 deg. I use the anderson meth kit which uses boost to feed the meth. and I use Ford windshield wiper concentrate for the meth liquid, I put it before the blower and im happy with it.

I'd not fault anyone who let a Pro handle the tune

Yes ... If you do it yourself ...........
You'll learn a good bit about that little silver box :Word:

I really did enjoy tinkering around with all that tuning stuff
and
I do admitt it ... I did get a bit puzzled from time to time

The satisfaction from doing it all yourself ... Well ... It was worth it to me

The tune will make or break your enjoyment of the car.

Short ... Simple ... and ... OH SO TRUE

My drivability got better and better as I learned more about how the
pcm does its thing
