85 vs 95 T-5 in a Fox

To put the 85 tranny in you are gonna need the little tranny harness from an 87 and up t-5 i did when i put the 85 tranny in mine. Your gonna wanna update the flywheel and clutch from 85 specs to 87 specs though.

It was me, and it was a 88' t-5 being put in a 95 automatic stang. The tranny crossmember out of the v6 or the orginal v8 car won't fit up. The tranny doesn't come back far enough, the automatic tranny was longer then the t-5 is. So I'm going to need to make a custom crossmember besides the fact that the shifter doesn't come up in a very good spot inside the car.

Well he is putting it in a fox the t-5 will fit fine from either year in the fox. The cross member will be fine. The only modification you may need to do is to trim the floor a little. Some people on here had to trim the floor some diddnt. I diddnt have to trim my floor and everything fit fine. The shift on my auto tranny sat further back then the stick shift. How ever the auto shifter is totally seperate from the tranny it self so once again youll be fine. There is a link on here somewhere for a step by step site. I know you quoted me, but was all what you said pointed towards me or the thread starter? Besides about the fox body. I am going to try to cut a bit of the floor out and see how she fits in there, if I don't like it, then eventually I'll swap out the tranny for a 95' year t-5.
