This week while I’m break from classes I started tackling the supporting mods. Come December, I want to have as much done so I can simply bolt on the blower, toss in fuel injectors, hook up meth system, load my tune and haul some!

I deleted the oil cooler and tossed in an FL-1A. This is to clear up space for the Vortech Install. I also started on the shorty header install, driver side is out and the new one is going in, so far so good. I wanted the ceramic BBKs but my order from Jegs hasn’t shipped because they’re on back order so the chrome will have to do.

Depending on the rainy florida weather this week, I might also hook up the wideband and boost gauge and find somewhere to tuck up the boost gauge wiring. Going to have a bung welded into my test pipe for the wideband to reside and then run all the wiring for the pillar pod

Driver side in and got the plugs/wires hooked back up. Going to tackle the passenger side tomorrow. PITA just needs some patience and squeezing my arms in there

Also drilled the holes for the pushpins and wires in my OEM pillar to mount the pod. Very happy with the outcome

Passenger side was a breeze except for the EGR tube. The nut snapped down the middle after a few turns with a 3 foot pipe. My BBK EGR flare fitting came cracked so I have to wait for them to overnight the part so the car is just awaiting install. In the meantime I hooked up the power and ground to the gauges using an add a fuse. Will run the wires to the wideband and boost reference tomorrow, hopefully there will be a nice firewall grommet.

Finally got the wideband bung welded on the connection pipe so I could button everything together. Ran the boost line and wideband sensor and got all that hooked up. Took it for a test drive after a long two weeks on the ramp. Seemed a little lean at 13.0 for WOT, noticed a slight tick in 2-3 gear at low speeds on the way back in, will recheck bolt torque first. I went ahead and placed an order for an FL-1A filter, GT bypass hose, and some -20 windshield washer fluid (roughly 30 percent methanol). I am going to delete the factory oil cooler to reduce some engine bay clutter and simplify the vortech install.

Otherwise the car has been great, on full daily duty while the CTS-V is down. My MPG average dropped to about 17.5 with the 3.73 gears but I still absolutely love them. The car is much punchier now and an absolute blast to drive

It's funny how all I see in the wild are black and silver, for the most part. Have you figured out how many they made in your color and options?

I've got a Gen 2 V:

They only made 62 in this color for all of Gen 2. Only 12 of those were manual. This one is Auto and I wouldn't change a thing.

There were about 580 total stealth gray V1s between 05 and 06. If I want to get super specific like the Vette guys, in 06 they only made 62 with my interior color. My future goal is to get into a V2 next, I would want a thunder grey, glacier ice, or stealth blue like yours I beliege. I love the balance of power and comfort. An auto would be a nice pairing with the cobra

Possibly. When I got the thing, it had the wrong rotors on it. I had to hunt down and find the specific 2-piece V rotors. The PO had installed some "upgraded" ZL1 Corvette rotors. They are not worthy and not nearly as beefy.

The icing is that these super special 2-piece rotors can't be taken apart to replace the friction ring

So being that the blower install is within two weeks, I started to look at how the power will be put to the ground. I currently drive this car every other week commuting to college campus and back. Right around 3k miles a year. I plan to run these wheels: https://www.aodhanwheels.com/products/aodhan-wheels-ds08?variant=37849037734045
18x8.5 +35 front and 18x9.5+30 rear
The car currently is on an 18x9 in the rear with a 275/35/18 Sumitomo HTRz3 360 treadwear. Punching it in first, it spins for a few and then hooks up well. Spins straight and very predictable with the 3.73 gears. Now going forward I am adding about 120whp and a good bit of torque so I am expecting it to be very rowdy with these 3.73 gears. The car is simply a commuter car with the occasional play on the street and drag strip maybe once a year. I am between going for a drag tire, the Nitto NT555R2 which is supposed to be a street friendly DR. We have it on the Grand National and it dead hooks and drives very nicely. My concern here is performance in rain and tread wear life. Would probably only get 8k miles out of a set is my guess but the car will be very safe and hook up when giving it some gas. The other option would be a highly rated summer tire such as the Conti Extreme Contact Sport or the Michelin PS4S. These tires have excellent reviews and are run on many high performance modern vehicles that would make more power than me. With the older suspension tech and lack of traction control I am not sure how they would hold up to the centri/3.73 combo. The plus side about these tires is I would have a 15k mileage warranty, and more peace of mind in the torrential downpours we get here in Florida. I know that is a mouthful but I would be very appreciative for any insight on what you guys are running tire wise on your boosted STREET cars.

Options: DR- https://www.nittotire.com/competition-tires/nt555rii-dot-compliant-competition-drag-radial-tire/
Street tire: https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/continental-extreme-contact-sport

The time has finally come! Tomorrow will be the first day of blower install. My goal is to pull the upper intake, install the Ford 47lb injectors, install TR6 plugs, new plug wires and seal back up the intake with a fresh gasket. Modest day of work to begin with. After that, I will begin on the methanol kit. I have some camber bolts I’m also going to throw in to straighten up the front end. Currently has 3 deg neg camber

Todays tasks finished:
-TR6 Iridum Plugs installed
-Edelbrock Ultra 50 plug wires
- New upper intake gasket
-47lb Ford Racing Injectors
- MSD Blaster Coil
-Drilled and tapped blower discharge for meth nozzle
Tomorrow I will begin with the vortech instructions and get to the main portion of the install now that the supporting mods are done.

Primed everything to make sure there were no leaks and all is well!

Rainy and gloomy day here in Florida hindered my progress. Still did what I could however to keep moving forward. Not many pics to show for today

Todays progress:
- Installed my custom gauge pod for methanol controller and connected power and ground, still need to mount pump and reservoir to finish wiring
- Ran wire from AEM wideband Analog output into the engine bay to tap into the EGR for datalogging
- Removed coolant hoses, water pump pulley, crank pulley, alternator and smog pump + associated brackets
-Assembled Vortech bracket and it is ready to install into the car tomorrow

My goal for tomorrow is to mount the meth pump and install new windshield washer reservoir and run all the feed lines, cut the hole for the power pipe, trim coolant hard tube and install the vortech bracket. The goal right now is to have the car on the road by Sunday
