Progress Thread 95 2-Top Cobra Build Thread- Never ending

I'll try to remember to look under the cobra intake I got covered in the carport tomorrow. Text me in the morning to remind me.
From the research I conducted, seems the fox tracks do bolt right up at the cost of losing a 1/2 inch in height, not terrible.
I’m 5’9 so I think that should still be okay
 
They do work well on 94-98 seats. On 99-04 seats the drivers seat mounting points are at two different heights, so you'd need washers to fill the gap
Is it correct that they sit lower than power tracks when all the way down? I tried all the way down in the 94 cobra (dads) and it felt like more sitting INSIDE the car, with only losing maybe an inch of sight below the hood line
 
One thing that really bugged me for a while was the faded cowl panel and wiper blades but I always always afraid of removing 24 year old brittle plastic especially when a new one cost almost 200 bucks. But anyway I decided to tackle it, removal was fairly easy but did obtain a hairline crack in the process, no big deal it’s basicslly unnoticeable, along with the wiper arms I sprayed it with 4 coats of a flat black, and as for the wiper blades I hit it with two coats with one coat of gloss clear. Very happy with how it turned out, will probably install tmrw

The last faded pieces of plastic on the car is the trim that runs around the base of the convertible top and wa slooking to see how to remove this or if painting it on car with a good mask job is easier. I know the foxbodies are a pain to do this. If anyone’s knows how to remove these pieces all help is appreciated

Also started putting together a little commemoration of all the companies and sites that helped the build along with decals on a spare air dam. Still need a couple more from hurst, Ford performance, American muscle etc
Ignore the dirty 3v underneath lol

Also today I tackled replacing the thermostat with a 180 deg part. I was able to wiggle out the housing with only removing the upper radiator hose and moving the serpentine belt out of the way. Wasn’t too hard until reassembly. I don’t know what changed but the black plastic piece atop the coolant overflow tank must’ve moved as I could no longer get my ratchet on the tensior which was odd. I struggled with a box end wrench and got the belt back on after a while. Idled the car up to operating temp and burped the system. Can’t drive yet because no seats lol. Seats should be done and in by next Wednesday. Super excited as it’s almost time to drive the car daily!

Picked up the reupholstered seats this evening, very happy with the outcome. Just finish up bolting the manual slider to the driver seat and got her in, will get passenger in tmrw along with a nice wash and drive, she’s been down for two months or so.

Also redid the door panels this week, had a black/opal grey but only needed the top of it to replace my torn black pictured below

Conditioned the vinyl and cleaned it then reinstalled onto my saddle bottom, here is the outcome. Just leaving the door panel off until the new speakers are in. It looks much better now!
