98 and 96 V6 interchangeable?

Blown head gasket and cracked head in the 96 3.8L V6.
Best pullout engine I could find is out of a 98 (also 3.8L V6)
Will it bolt up? All the accessories?
Not interested in mods really.

There may be difference in the cam sensor. One clue is the number of signal wires (2 or 3). If so, use the cam sensor and wiring harness from the original motor.

It still may be safer to use the wiring harness from the original motor. Not positive.

Recommend using the CORRECT cam sync tool if the cam sensor is removed.

I am also tryin to figure out if i can swap a newer 3.8 into my 95, found a good deal on one and would like to build up one or the other, let me know what you find out, ill check in too
