All You KENNE BELL GUYS......
hmmm I would have thought better numbers than that. A friend of mine has an 02 gt stock motor pushin 470rwhp I know its a 4.6 but I was hoping to be close to that with all I have done to mine. So is a centrifugal a better choice or is the kenne bell the way to go even with lower numbers. I know there is no lag with a kenne bell but there is with a centrifugal. And what about this heat issue do they really make the car run hot?
Centrif makes more power up top. If you make NA power at 5400-5500 KB is an AWESOME street blower...It comes on early and gives massive torque.

If you have a motor that likes to spin above 6k the centrif is the way to go. Centrifs make better PEAK power. The KB will have a BIG FAT Flat torque curve which makes them great on the street. 420 Tq at the wheels is no joke...and thats above 400 ftpds over a 3000 rpm range.

Anything above 15.5k RPM Blower speed and the KB is done...blows hot air. I was over spinning my blower at 5800 pullied for 15-17# on my 331...hence my switch to a YSI.

I did run 12.1 at almost 116 with the KB on my old 302 combo...its making power.

I dont know about a spacer clearing the stock regulator...that brings a special set of problems as I found out. I had to configure a custom front snout mount for my 1/2 spacer ...used to clear the Valve covers...to clear the rockers on the Victor Jr's and clear the billet fuel rails.

yeah what is that I'd like to know too? Well even with my 306 I wanna build I dont think I will be spinning past 6 and so sounds like the kenne bell is gonna be the way I go, plus the whole early flat torque curve sounds nice for street and track too. But does that mean past 5,500 its useless? I guess I just need to have a good set up because I was hoping for mid 11's with a power adder I can run high 12's with what I have now. Hope the kenne bell can get me there sounds like it can.
Yeah thats what I wanna hear. I love the feel of my uncles vette the pull is AMAZING. Cant wait for all those black marks!!! hey I see you are from VA what part?
He is 188.2 miles south of you (3 hours 10 mins)

I dont see why mid to low 12's cant be had with what you have. Its about the package...set your car up to do it and it will. Talk to Killercanary...same combo and ran a VERY low 12 and broke the motor with a potential high 11 run.

If my motor ever stops giving me trouble, my next mission is to complete the package and build the car to perform itself.

Well never really get up that way but if i do I'll lhave to look ya up. And yeah I know my car has alot potential as it sits I havent had a chip burned for it and dont have anything like tweecer but with tires and a cooler evening and if I drive it hard I know mid 12's are attainable. I'm going this friday to see if I can knock any time off with my street tires. But I dunno about low 12's killercanary is a sick driver and I dont claim to be. I cant get the whole powershift thing too afraid the tranny will go haha. Thats why I'm saying to justify the kenne bell I would love to see atleast mid 11's even though I know the faster you are the harder it is to drop times. More expensive it is too. :nonono:

I love my KB. Not much into the track, never did any "tuning" to it, but it goes. I'm going to Kuwait in a few weeks, when I get back, should be throwing on some heads, cam, 42lbers, tweecer, bunch of stuff (gotta love tax free, hazardous duty, and hostile fire pay!!!) As was said before, instant boost, real funfor driving on the street, and thats my cars role. Doesn't run any hotter, not more than it ever did. I did pop a head gasket, after about a month, but, original HG's, got greedy with the pulley swapping, so I payed the price for that one. Not sure on the spacer thing, might have hood clearnace issues with that. Piece of cake to install, I can have mine off in about 10 mins now. The AFPR, I think it can be done, actually there are some pics of guys that have rigged it up on Corral, they use some type of adapter, I think it is a Lowe's plumbing section type of set-up, but hey, it works. I have the "standard" kit, and with the "8" psi pulley, I'm hitting 11. Yeah playing with fire, hence the supporting stuff upon return from the dirt. I did tangle with another mustang, I believe was vorteched (had the license plate frame, and a gage pillar, never sa the guy again). He chucked a rev while trying to pass me, (on the right, nonetheless) so I hit it, caught him and passed him and kept going. I'm assuming he wanted to play, as he tried to keep up, just didn't happen. Again, I never saw the guy again, and can only assume he had a vortech, can't imagine why you'd have the palte frame w/out one. Anyway, whatever you choose, good luck and enjoy. In my opinion, KB's are good stuff

Hey i see you're in W'Burg. I'm in the process of permantly moving into Hampton and we should hook up. I loved the KB but after going turbo I swear there is no other power adder better. The snout connects to the ps bracket so if you run an intake spacer you need an adapter. Other than that it sucks b/c you need the stock VC's and FPR as already stated.
I never went to the track with the KB but my last run at the track was 11.6 @126 with some methanol and a T-70.
Before that on a hot as 92* day w/o the methanol I ran 12.01 @ 117 with my T-66 all this on my stock 168K+ motor. The car is a straight sleeper with the turbo. My exhaust is very quiet and it's a MAC cat back with 3.5 tips and a BBK O/R X pipe. I've got tons of videos if you want to hear the differences.
PM me if you have more questions.

Hey sounds great I look forward to meeting you when you move down here! Always great to have more mustangs around (especially fast ones :D ) Saw you run at fun ford this summer your car is definately bad a**. I will PM you to find out more. Thanks!
He has the supercharger they make. I know it is cause I have driven it multiple times. Twin screw runnin about 500rwhp. 0-60 in 3.3 and 1/4 in 11.4 if my memory serves me right. It cost him like 15 grand for all the work and I know the twin turbo set up is wayyyy more than that. I just hope to have a mustang that cost me 8grand plus modsand be able to beat his vette with over 70grand invested. That would make my day. :nice:
Dont get your hopes up. Have to remember that Vette handles alot better then a Mustang as well. Just be happy to have a blown stang once you do get it done and call it good.

Yeah I know, believe me I am happy with what I got and will be even more so when I get the blower. I sure am gonna try and give him a run for his money though haha. Hey I can dream can't I? I like mustangs better anyways becasue our cars make good power with all that old technology. :flag:
