Build Thread Another 68 coupe to fast back conversion

5 /16 ,but it depends on the old spot welds ,if they were stacked like a lot of the Cali.cars seem to be i will go bigger . Watch for a small puff of smoke ,that is rust between the two pannels ,that is a sign to stop drilling .
Looks like my last sheet metal panels are in stock so i should have then here by the week end
 
Last two pieces made it in today ,should be able to start again this weekend

So i lied ,i started on it today . Sand blasted anywhere i have to drill spot welds at first you can hardly see the spot welds

A little 150 grit sand paper and those suckers pop out ,theres one ,no there is one there is one over there ,there is a bunch of them ...that is tomorrows job ,drill them out

I started drilling spot welds this morning ,not to bad ,no double stackers .

I have everything on the driver side except the wheel lip ,and a that will take a bit .
This is what you should wind up with at the windshield post ,if not ,you did somthing wrong

I will finish up passenger side ,then tomorrow i will sand blast the back half and primer and i will be ready to square it up and level it and start ading new metal

These cell photos may not be very good.
The driver side door frame is first ,it is in 4 pieces ,i like the un welded parts because i can line them up better than they do at Dynacorn . I used my hole punch and punched the holes for plug welding . Align all the alignment marks and everything will fit perfectly ,after several plug welds the driver side door frame is together and clamped to the body
