anyone running 275s on 17x9s

It's hard to match the color of Bullit wheels. 01-02 and 03-04 are different colors. The aftermarket Bullits say on there that they only match one of those two year groups.

A 275 on a 9" wheel is right at home and perfect. They will fit. IF you have to remove your quads, do so and invest in a set of LCA's to take care of teh wheel hop.

X2. My car has 275s on 9" wheels in the back and I have no rubbing issues, though I did have to remove my quad shocks.

i was running 17x9s with 275/40s and they fit for the most part. had to "massage" the inner fenderwells a bit and flip the quads (didnt have to remove) and it was all good after that

i too have 275's on 17x9's, All the way around

Broken record here... 275's om 1996 cobra's on the rear... 245's up front.

Just like someone else said 275s are right home on a 9" rim. Just flip the quad and you should be fine. I kept 275s on my 17x8s on my 94 so you don't really NEED a 9" rim for 275s.

I was running 275/40/17 on 17x9 at all 4 corners, then switched to 275/35/18 w/18x9 front, and 295/35/18 on 18x10 rear...quadshocks still in place and not flipped

Here ya go. I bought my current 17x9 rears with 5.9 backspacing from LRS.
Mustang 94-04 Wheel, Bullitt, Anthracite, 5 Lug, 17X9 at LRS - Same Day Shipping! This wheel matches the factory 17x8 anthracite wheels closer than anybody's bullitt wheel. I found ou tthe hard way that there are more than one company making aftermarket anthracite Bullitt wheels.

After I noticed the really slight mismatch, I ordered a set of 17x8 aftermarket anthracite fronts from American Muscle - Only place I found that has an aftermarket 17x8! American Muscle makes both matching 17x8 and 17x9 bullitts with polished lip and matching gray spokes. So after my 2 new 17x8s showed up, the spokes were another shade darker than the 17x9s - DAMN! But the lip was polished. So I left my setup alone since it was so close. I'll probably buy the 17x9s from AM and put the extra set I'm using now on the 85 Coupe when I don't want to drive around on the skinnies and rear slicks.

Fronts are 17x8 Ford...both anthracite. Front lip is machined and the rear lip is polished. You will hardly notice the difference in the lip or the one shade off gray between the spoke finishes.

245-45-17 front and 275-40-17 rear...Sumitomo HTRZ II tires - sticky with great handling in dry and wet. I really like these tires and you can get all four for around $400 shipped.

I run the fox length rear axle kit with laser cut caliper brackets from north race cars. I converted to disc out back but you can use drums too.

I have 96+ SN95 front spindles, tires tuck.







The rear spokes are maybe a shade darker - I had dozens of people tell me they would have never noticed if I didn't point it out.

If you want to do the whole staggered wheel and tire deal anthracite bullitts with 17x8 and 17x9 sizes - (2) 245s and (2) 275s you can do the whole deal through American Muscle the cheapest and it all matches, free shipping mounting and balancing. I shoulda done it this way the first time.

If you are just buying the rears - BUY THEM FROM LRS!!!! They match the closest to the factory 17x8s.

If you keep the stock springs or do the C-springs (which personally I do not like because I hate the jacked up in the rear look) you should be OK to not roll the lip. Mine car is dropped 1.7" front and 1.5" rear and i's low. I did finesse the rear fender lip at the very top and down a little on the insides with my wheel lip rolling tool. As I have mentioned to a coupel others on here I'm very anal about good wheel and tire fitment. No need to go into a corner hard and have the body roll a little and clice open a tire with the wheel lip or worse yet warp the fender lip. You will also need fox length rear axles otherwise they WILL STICK OUT and hit regardless of suspension height.

I have 17x9 with 275's on the rear, I installed a 1/4" spacer and it fits fine. I put the spacers on front to clear dust cap.
