Need a little insight fellas. I recently completed a HCI swap on my '89 GT. Before I go any further, I want to explain that I was just looking to build a strong, reliable, economical (not according to my wife) daily driver. The car was completely stock when I started, and here are the mods I made. 1995 cobra GT40 irons (Crane 1.7 RR's, upgraded valve springs, and slightly bigger valves...intakes are 1.90, not sure about the exhaust), Trick Flow street heat intake upper and lower, Trick Flow stage 1 cam, 70MM BBK throttle body, BBK longtubes with matching off road x pipe, and a BBK cold air intake. I stuck with the factory 19lb injectors, and the stock mass air meter. I'm hoping that I'm making around 270-280 RWHP. The car feels stronger, but not to the degree that I expected. 1st and 2nd gear are really strong, but then it falls over when I shift into 3rd. The car runs smooth, with no obvious tuning issues. I know that I need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and it is in the works. The only noticeable difference/problem is that it smells like it's running pretty rich. My buddy is saying that the rear gears are killing it, and I'm inclined to agree. Keep in mind that I'm fairly new to this sort of thing, but I feel that I made fairly decent choices with the mods I made. I would like to have the car capable of low 13 second 1/4 mile times when it's all said and done. Thanks in advance for the help.
