The mustang has been fighting an up hill battle since 99. They have been increasing in weight and not making up for it on the power end. Now they are making up for it on the power end but the cars are still getting bigger. The camaro still looks good but the challenger just looks stupid IMO not b/c of the styling but b/c of the size

I believe chythar is correct when it comes to the size of our car's.

These types of changes go in cycles.

They started off small and compact and grew in size within 5-6 years and then went back down again in the 80's and now they are growing once again...give it about 5 more years and they will scale them down again.

Now for us short fella's we have a very difficult time seeing around in the S197's.

A friend of mine has a 05 that is lowered and has a ton of junk done to it,i drove it when he first got it and had trouble seeing and now he has a cowl hood and tinted windows and i wont even drive it if he offered anymore...just a hassle in my opinion

Oh man....you guys travel in packs.

People get into trouble for purposely stirring the pot, creating unnecessary drama and then challenging authority figures when called on it. If someone wants here wants to test the limits, by all means do so…but they’ve only got themselves to blame when the other shoe drops.

Now, we can either stay on topic with this, or you can continue to derail the thread and I can lock it down and start handing out infractions…it’s up to you fellas?

I imagine you have nothing to worry about Black Stampede, its probably more of a cumulative number of offenses and trolling that gets a guy banned. Why would you interject yourself in that category anyway?

nuff said, with are cars weighting as much as they do, they dont offer half the room the newer cars do. so what if they weight a little more, they are putting out HUNDRED'S more hp.

As I see it, the Challenger is the only one that looks to big.

I wasn't throwing myself in that category I was referring to Nate. I just think the little slightly heated, but controlled debates that go on are not a big deal in the least. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and as far as sarcasm and joking goes, if you can dish it you better be able to laugh when it comes back your way. Personally I would not take offense to any regular member on here. As has been said many times before, this section is good for a reason. Let's not get worked up over nothing or some folks may change their mind on that.

Back to the topic, I agree with whoever said the Challenger has nice styling, but is just enormous in size. As for the Mustang, lets just be glad its getting more power.

Well, first of all, a smaller car is going to handle, brake better, and get better gas mileage. Safety really has nothing to do with size. Neither does a usalbe back seat or trunk, that's all in the design. My friend's BMW is half the size of my Mustang, but it has a much bigger trunk, and more usable back seat. It has more headroom and footroom too. It's all about using the space you have effectively.

Sheer size isn't necessarily going to determine how a car handles or brakes. If that were the case, these little econoboxes would be running circles around our cars. Don't you find it ironic that the '10-up Mustang is the biggest and heaviest Mustang built to date, yet handles, stops and retains better fuel economy than any model before it?

As far as safety goes....what year and model BMW does your friend have. I'd be interested after all is said and done if its got the same 5 star US Government crash rating for drivers, passengers and roll over crash tests that the '10-up Mustang does?

I certainly don't mind the little bit of added heft and size with my sports car if it means I have a better chance of walking away in the event I get into a serious accident with it.
