I of course have the stang its a 2000 with tru dual flowmaster 40's and a K&N cold air kit. He has an Audi A4 turbo AWD of course and its lowered 2 inches. Who do you think would win in a 1/4 mile?? or 1/8 mile?

U might win 1/8th mile...Just because those things are heavy as hell...if he has any mods such as a chip, you will not win.

he has no mods at all besides lowering... me and him always fight b/c are cars are pretty even
well u can always make fun of how much he paid for his car and yet its still not faster then a v6 mustang...hahaha...although i wouldnt challenge him to any handling contests...audi sucks in the handling world compared to some of the other german manufacturers but it is still evolutions ahead of ur mustang...

Even if he wins, you won't look bad.

As someone else stated, for what he paid for that car, he shouldn't be comparing it to a V6 Mustang. Does this idiot realize that Ford offers other engines inside the Mustang?

You just have to beat him out of the hole. Like someone else said, it's a heavy car, and he's not gonna have that turbo working for him on the launch unless he dumps the clutch. So you might be alright, since it's not the inline 6.

Audi would have a good chance at winning. Especially if he had mods. As far as handling, Audi does not have sucky handling. They are by far one of the best especailly with quattro.

a couple questions since i have an automatic should i do a neutral drop to start off or should i just start in drive....also should I leave it in O/D or take it off cuz i heard the car runs better with it off put uses more gas or somethin. thanks

u lucky fool, i have my lescence and my parentals would never allow me to go to the track. i live in CT, so i got mine a few months ago, although i could easily do something to get around my parents, liek someone else said, tell them your goign to watch, lol, or i could say 'would u rather have me do it in the streets and get killed!" it would either grant me access to the track or no car... hrrmm lol

A guy I work with has an A4 Turbo and I ran him once. His car was stock and I had no trouble beating him in the quarter. Off the line, as everyone said, that Audi is slow. I'm not saying I smoked him by a mile or anything, but, there were a few car lengths between us. I can't believe people pay the price for those things. The guy I raced thought for sure he could smoke me easy b/c of the price of his car. Guess that's the logic of most people who buy those kinds of cars. All the great handling in the world means nothing on the straight 1/4 mile track. :D

The price isn't just for speed, you get all the other creature comforts too. Plus a chip and some upgrades and you could make it pretty fast. Audi's and most other European cars are built for road racing not drag racing. Audi and Mustangs are my two specialties. Mustangs go good in straight line. They can be made to handle curves though. Audi can handle curves but can be made to go in a straight line. A 3.0 V6 would probably be a better challanger. Side note, S4's are awesome.

NEVER do a neutral drop in your car!

Leave the tranny in drive and take the O/D off and kill traction control if you have it. Then just nail the gas, the car will know when to shift better than you will.

Might want to look into sneaking some 4.11 gears into that rear before you race. :)

Btw, o/d does nothing. It doesn't matter if its on or off, you will not go any faster either way. Only way o/d would ever come into play is if you had gears and o/d came on at a certain rpm.

Thats why my car doesn't do so well in the quarter but awesome in the 1/8th. Because after the 8th my car shifts into o/d (damn 4.10 gears).

The newest Audi A4 1.8t's have just 170hp and definately don't have any weight or tq advantage. They do have infinately better tranny's though. Anyway, I beat a lighter 180hp Jetta 1.8t by .2 even thoug he had a better launch. You SHOULD win.

Oh, and the reason to get an S4 is that it sounds awesome, its a V8, and it's not such a prick car. I like M3's, but the fact is, most people who drive them are pricks. Oh, and their engines are prone to blowing up.
