Beers Of Stangnet

Had dinner tonight at a Scottish Pub that opened out here about a year ago. Very good Scottish and some Irish dishes, but they've become very good at getting local breweries and some others to bring out some specials here. :nice:
Tonight's special, one of only two restaurants in this area to get it, was New Holland Brewery Dragon's Milk- Chocolate Cherry flavor.
ERHMAGERD! This IS dessert! Dragon's Milk is one of my favorites, and adding a bit of chocolate and cherry flavor to it is just amazing. Great stuff, if you can find it. :hail: Oh, and dinner was pretty darned good, too. I had a Belhaven Scotch Ale with the Scotch Eggs appetizer, and an Angus Sirloin with seasoned mashed potatoes and steamed green beans for dinner. Sticky Toffee Pudding with the Dragon's Milk for dessert. Oh, and did I mention...

Man! That sounds like a perfect man meal!

I have a new to me Imperial Stout here. This is different for me, it's over 10% and yet tastes like a lighter beer. Yet still an imperial stout.......I'm confused........It's good and worth buying though fellas. I will definitely buy it again. It's not a pitch black beer like the Eviltwin offerings.

The brewery is new to me. The liquor store close to my house tries to bring in different stuff. Usually it seems to be an IPA, but i'm burnt out on IPA's.

That Even More Jesus from Eviltwin brewery is still my favorite. I buy it whenever the stores have it.

Happy Father's Day folks!
Ummm... Is this the wrong day to be enjoying a beer called the "Dirty Bastard?"
Sorry Dad, no offense intended! :)
I don't need a special day to remember my Dad. I'm sitting in his recliner, thankful he helped me develop the skills to do a lot of the things I've been working on lately.
I'd drink a toast to him, but he never drank alcohol, AFAIK. He smoked Lucky Strikes, and that's all the vices he needed (and what led to his passing in 1998.)

Back from another hiatus. Been cutting back on beer for a bit in an attempt to lose a bit of this beer-gut I've had, all in support of the girlfriend trying to shed a few pounds. We've both made adjustments in diet as far as portion control and what we actually eat. She's done pretty well, having lost about 20 lbs since April...but I've only been able to drop 10. My frame is "average" already...I just have that beerbelly thing going on.

But anyway...departing from that a bit. Last week we were down on the Outer Banks again and the "adult beverages" were flowin' a-plenty. We had a few different varieties of mixed drinks; I picked up a 15-pack of "Hell or High Watermelon" (a wheat brew from 21st Amendment ...I tried it before in here) to consume for the week, and of course I had to stop off for another customized 6-pack containing some of the local brews.

Here's what I got for myself:

And something for my brother...he's a hophead and I picked this up for him since he was "catsitting" while I was gone:

I've drank the Red White and Brue so far as well as the Red Ale. Nothing particularly outstanding about them...they both just seemed like average brews for what they were.

No feedback on the IPAs to report yet though...I haven't been able to get the beer to him.

Dogfish Head Festina Peche. Supposed to be a wheat brewed with peaches and a hint of sourness. The sour comes through but I'm not picking up on the peach...I'm thinking the sour overpowers it. It's not bad; I'd probably pick it up again.
