once again you contradict yourself. why is his car any different? it's still a conversion. who cares if he saved it from the crusherwell, it would take a hardcore purist to give you any trouble for converting hack job... the thing just turned out too nice to bitch about hahah, you left no detail unaddressed... and besides, you saved a car that would otherwise more than likely be on its way to a crusher... of course, i'd ALWAYS rather see a mustang converted than crushed if given the choice

not saying that it isnt a nice car b/c it is, but there are many people that flame the very mention of a conversion and then when a converted car is finished everyone is quick to say how bad ass it is. I dont get it.

there were over a million fox bodys made. just makes yours that much rarer.

So glad you showed up.This is an invalid perception the 4I peeps often run up against.
Unfortunately, removing a 4I car from curculation helps to doom the rest of the group to obscurity. As a group in the shadow of the 87-93 Foxes we get ignored quite a lot. We don't get nearly as many aftermarket or reproduction parts. Manufacturers refuse to make parts for us do to our small numbers and dwindling base. 87-93 Mustangs for the most part were unchanged, the group together represents a very sizeable base to target for parts. Unfortunatley for the 4I cars, they pretty much went through significant revisions every other year. You can roughly break it down 79-82, 83-84, 85-86 but the list is endless as to the parts that changed each and every year. To a manufacturer its an absolute nightmare.
Take the Capri. It is exceedingly rare compared to the Mustang. More Mustangs were made (roughly 10:1 more per year) but yet Capri values lag Mustangs (rarity does NOT necessarily mean higher values). Every Capri that gets eliminated due to a nose swap in essence would be like eliminating 10 Mustangs at once. Its devastating.
I'm not trying to bash anyone here, but I want to maybe clarify a misconception or two and to help a few out there understand why we fight so hard to be recognized and why it's so important.
