I was just curious what is the best oil to use for an '02 GT. The guy at Autozone told me that 5W20 is what Ford recommends. He didn't have any synthetic blend and told me regular SAE would be fine on my 15K mile car. Is he right or should I go find synthetic?

You should go find synthetic and keep your car lasting long right from the start. Since 5W-20 isn't an available grade for synthetic oil, Mobil 1 recommends the use of 0W-20 which will still provide the best protection and mileage for your engine. And by the way, this information could be found on www.mobil1.com as a source for this recommendation of oil.

I just use regular ol' Castrol GTX 5W-20 with a Motorcraft filter, all bought at Walmart. Walmart also carries the Motorcraft brand 5W-20 synthetic blend, just fyi.

What's the difference between 0w-20 and 5w-30? And if it makes a difference I only drive my car in the summer.

Quaker State makes a full synthetic 5W-20.
