Best spark plugs and gap for my 5.0?

Just wondering what some of you experienced 5.0 people think would be the best plugs for my setup...I don't know a whole lot about these cars, but the smog nazi's have summoned me and I think my ride may need some new plugs...Thanks in advance.

Your running the stock ignition from what I see.

Some Motorcraft or Autolite copper (cheapies) will do about as well as anything.

My experience has always been, if it didn't come with platinums, don't put 'em in. They cost more, and from what some people have said, may actually not perform as well.

I always go with the Autolite cheapies.

I agree. The copper plugs will burn hotter, which is a decent thing for emissions testing.

And emissions aside, some folks have had idle and high-RPM issues with plat plugs.

Regular old Autolites at the Factory Gap of .054 works just fine, dont waste your money on those exotic plugs!

Let's say 88SaleenClone had an MSD replacement coil and an MSD 6A unit? What could he use for a gap with that set-up?

well Ill be replacing my plugs here today. I just put a cobra intake on and the plugs got a little fouled from coolant and stuff getting in the heads.

I run a MSD 6AL and Blaster 2 Coil. I believe the MSD manual said you can open them up to .060 - .070. Ill have to check the manual again.

The above-number should work. It really takes experimenting to find the biggest gap possible.
