BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW Feedback Please

My Cobra is in need of new some rubber, have pretty much decided I'll be going with the BFG G-Force T/A KDW. To those of you who have had driven on these tires a while, would you care to share some insight?

Also would anyone happen to have a discount code for Tirerack.com or know of place who can do better then $143 a tire :D.

Thanks in advance for the help and feed back.

I would NOT buy them again.. They do hook well, but they howl like no other..

I originally thought I was getting the KDW2s with the cool tread pattern, but I ordered these by mistake. Never again..

I was going to go with these because of the cool tread pattern but I decided not to after hearing everyone say how bad they howl on the highway. I'm getting some new tires soon and I'm going with Nitto 555's.

Keep in mind that the KDW2 (Note the "2") is the one with the cool tread pattern. The KDW is what I have and it howls.

I don't know much about the KDW2.

There is also a KDWS that is an all-season tire and has a more passenger-carish tread pattern to it.. The KDW tires that I have have a tread patters similar to the stock gatorbacks..

Ahh, my bad - OK, it's the KDW2 that has that "cool" tread pattern that looks like a truck tire... :bang:
Tires should stand out like KDW2, with its weird tread design, but I guess that's just my opinion.
I dig the Potenza RE series or the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2.

Awsome handling....stick well in turns and brake very well. They sound a little loud but I have a rear seat delete so that my contribute to the noise. I've had them since late April. I would buy them again but only as a summer tire.

I have the kdw's and love them, traction is great and with a KB I need all I can get. I like the tread pattern imho.
I have not noticed the extra noise everyone refers to,maybe because of the KB or because it's a conv.
they do follow grooves in the road more than the stock tires, but that may be due to I run staggered sizes---275/40/17 rear and 245/45/17 front

How wide of a rim are you running out back to run that 275 in the rear? Right now I have the stock 97 Cobra 8 inch rims all the way around so think I'll be sticking with 245's on all for corners (not sure if it's worth it to bump up to 255's). Hopefully once I save some more cash, someday I'll buy some new wider rims and go with 275 or even 315's out back :hail2:. Then someday after that once I win the lotto (or rob a bank:D ) I'll have a KB!!!

Thanks for all the feed back fellas, until this thread I didn't realize there was a KDW2....think I'll stick with the KDW's as they sound to do well where I want it...handling, braking ect. I'm pretty much used to a bit of road noise driving a Vert.

Interesting, I just did a post on this in Talk . . . Clicky

I did notice that the Nittos I replaced my BFGs with didn't look quite as wide on the rear as what I took off . . . interesting that this is pointed out in this thread.

The BFGs are certainly noisy tires on the highway. But, IMO that's a secondary consideration with such a tire. I was never disappointed with the performance of the G-Forces. I had the same size you're after . . .

i loved the KDW2's i had on my GT. Sure road noise is there, but its a small price to pay for the performance you gain. wet and dry handling, traction, braking, all are worth it. being such a wide footprint they give (i had 9" front, 10" rear) youre going to get road noise with any kind of tire with those characteristics. Nitto, Goodyear, etc.

My 03 Cobra has Nitto555 up front and 555R out back and the road noise is louder than the KDW2's. Doesnt bother me a bit however.

if the road noise gets you, you need either a louder exhaust, or a better system.

Thanks fellas for all the feedback, sounds like I'll be good to go on ordering the KDW's....pretty set on going with 245's all the way around not sure it would be worth it to bump up to 255's in the rear as I'm hoping to buy new, wider rims in the rear and put some real big rubber back there.

Thanks again for the help, I haven't been posting much here on Stangnet for a while, just hadn't had time but within a week I've gotten help to fix my A/C and now great info on the KDW's, it's awesome!!!

The KDW2's are the best tire ive ever had to be honest. Price is decent, traction is phenomenal (1.9 60' with 18's, chrome rims, and a drop on H&R Supersports), handling is great, and the road noise is common with most wide, low profile tires.
