Not to take away from the thread, but how do you phone him?

Dude - there are plenty of TTY services out there where someone who is deaf logs onto a website where they type what they want to say, and an operator reads what is typed and relays the message to the other person.

UPDATE: I have talked with the guy and he is re-cosidering to accept my offer $5,500.00 CASH. He will let me know by tomorrow for approval....
