BOOM it finally broke

Its weird for the rod to break like that, even in the lower SIR series. I typically tell guys 600hp max, and I dont prefer them in a boosted set-up.

I have a new theory for you... check around the #2 main make sure the block isn't cracked. Check the thrust on the crank, it should be around .004"-.008"....Im thinking the crank walked/moved and the rod hit the cylinder skirt and all hell then broke loose.

Can you see the number on the front weight of the crank, it will tell me if it is forged or not.

# on front of crank is 507 if remember correctly, nothing else. I was told it was an Eagle crank.

No signs of block cracking anywhere. # 2 looked great. Actually other than the carnage the rod caused the block looks super nice still. I couldn't find my feeler gauges upon diassembly but everything was tight.

3 years of track abuse with a passenger side blower belt pulling on the crank cause this? I always thought with 500+hp the block would split before an internal would let go.
