boost

ok guys i have a dss 306..afr 185s afm b-31 cam..38lb inj 80 mm mass 70 mm tb..and a s-trim...as of now in getting about 9-10 lbs of boost...with a 6 rib set up...2.87..up top and 6.00 on the crank......what i want to know is if i want more boost, whats gonna be the best way,,,should i go with an asp 7 inch crank pully (6 rib) and be done. or should i go up to (8 rib).2.95 and 6.87....what would give me the most...your thoughs

since you already have a smallish 2.87 on the charger I would go with the 7" crank pulley. I have that on mine and I got it from ASP. If you dont mind some advice, and I had known then what I know now this is what I would do. Since you are considering the crank pulley, and that would force you to buy a new belt any how, spend the extra money for a new 8 rib charger pulley and convert it all to a 8 rib set up. I know this is what I want to do because I have a 2.75 pulley on my blower with a 7" crank, and I really need to put alot of tension on the belt so I dont get any slipping. Also going from a 6" to 7" crank pulley will give a 15% increase in boost.

thanks....i think im better off with the 8 rib rib also..im just woried that the belt is to close to the fans..1/8 inch......but if it clears then so what how close it is ...right?.....the 2.95 and 6.87 should give me more than the 2.87 and the 6.00 i have now....if all else fails i was told i can slap a 6 rib belt on the 8 rib pullys........oh and nice crop job on your avitar...

I was wondering if you were going to comment on the photochop or not. I love what you did with your hood and the stripes. That pic of my car is my motivation to get my cosmetics in shape. Right now the car looks kind of crappy till the hood is popped. I hope your not pissed that Im kinda going after your look.

not at all....only if you lived in my town...lol......all it is ,is an 82 gt scoop that i modified to fit on a 3 inch harwood hood...
