Burn out in Manual

you could do 2nd gear burnouts on dry pavement without water or bleach? i'm sorry but I don't believe it. i tried that once and it smoked my clutch, and my tires were already hot (street tires) and had like no grip. or are you talking about with a line lock?

edit: when i say i don't believe it i mean i am suprised, not that i think you're a liar. or maybe i am not understanding correctly.

 What's so hard about it? Rev it to 5000+ and dump the clutch, simple.

A line lock makes it VERY easy lol. Its a device that when installed, you press down the brake, activate the line lock. This activates a solnoid that puts pressure on your front brakes. You then rev it to about 2500 dump the clutch and take the revs up to about 5000 in 1st or 2nd, whatever you prefer. 2nd lasts longer :D. To stop the burnout all you do is flip the switch and cut off the line lock, it releases the brake and your off!
As stated above you dont need to tac it up to like 4800-5000 and then dump it. I can take mine to 2000 and sidestep the clutch and Im spinning like mad, even with 275 Nitto 555's in the back :nonono:
About your clutch, again as stated above it will get back to normal the more you drive it. I remember the first time I tried to do one :rlaugh: (burnout) I had the nice clutch smell afterwards. Now I just go to 2000 sidestep the clutch and hit the brake. My feet are so freaking big it gets harder and harder to do the heel toe thing with size 16's :notnice:

NDBullitt,

I just dumped it as stated at 4000rpms and the stock Goodyears went right up in smoke. I was surprized since I could never do this in my 94GT without it trying to stall. I held it for a couple seconds and then just rode it out. the car would do it at will then and will definately do it at will now. I wouldn't even make a BS post about something like that since its not a big deal.

SLP makes a nice direct fit line lok now with prebent lines. very easy install versus bending your own lines and flaring the ends. no other company has a Mustang specific setup available.
