Does anyone have a spare A9L they are willing to ship to me if I pay the shipping back and forth? In my quest to get my car to start, I would like to eliminate (or confirm) my computer as the problem. Rather than buy one off Ebay and have to deal with reselling (doubt any seller would let me return it) if it does not solve my no start issue, I wondered if any of you parts hoarders may have one and trust me enough to let me plug it in and see if my car runs? I'll make it worth the hassle.

I have two a9Ls. Both untested though. I assume they aren't fried but I truely don't know as I was going to do my MAF swap shortly and test.

I can ship you one if you'd like.

I see an issue here. What if whatever blew the old computer blows the test one

What is your car not doing ? Any burned traces inside the computer you have ?

A simple DVOM and a couple checks can determine if your computer is bad.

If it is bad....its usually caused by a wiring issue. Either incorrect o2 harness or a short somewhere.

I think that I need to charge a fee for every member that doesn't use the checklist in cases like this...
Of course that would be hard to count and collect on...

Just in case all other avenues fail, I have one that was working up until 6 months ago when I pulled it. Should be good to go.

Don't worry, we discussed a few things to test prior to plugging in a test ECU.

I honestly don't think the ECU is burned out or could see how it was based on what he swapped. It's gotta be something simple

I remember years so doing an intake swap and the car wouldn't start. Spent a good week trying to troubleshoot that one and pulled the intKe off twice. We just happened to check the firing order and it was just way off. We assumed the entire time it was right and almost pulled the intake off again to redo it.

I remember reading about it in his other thread...DUH !!!

I saw he checked all the usual culprits...from 10 pins....to grounds.

I believe it was getting spark, correct ?

Good fuel pressure, but no injector fire.

I cant remember if you checked the pick up inside the distributor....but im sure you did.

I just ran through the threads trying to give some feedback, 95bluestallion.

Is your security staying on in that 95 ? Its pre PATS but a few of them had fuel pulse interrupt alarm systems.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay getting back. Mike helped me through some things to check inside my A9L, as well testing the EEC relay and power to the A9L from there. Everything is looking good, so I am comfortably moving on back to @jrichker 's checklist.

The thing with this whole no start situation of mine is that the car ran when I last shut it off. I simply pulled the upper intake and valve covers to adjust rockers, and magically have no spark out of the coil, and no firing of the injectors.

The coil has power going in, the fuel pump primes, and the car cranks. All connections under hood appear good, and to this day I have still not disconnected the salt and pepper shakers since buying the car. I cant find a cut wire, all fuses are still good, and the car fired on all 8 and ran decent when I Iast shut it off, so I know my firing order is correct.

I need to revist "the list" find where I left off, and get back to it.

As I went through the list, I ended up taking the distributor apart and replacing the pick up, as well as the TFI module with brand new Motorcraft parts. Changed my coil also.

I really appreciate it man.

And @Mustang5L5 was also willing to mail me one, knowing my car has an unknown issue.

Thank you for trusting me guys, and being willing to have a "member loaner program" of sorts. Cant say enough good about our group of guys in here.

In all honesty, I dont even own a volt meter yet. I hate electrical problems, and I am guessing the others that stray from it are in the same boat. I can learn, and will have to to learn to get this figured out. The list is awesome, you just have to know how to test everything on it, and that isnt common knowledge to everyone.
