I just put on some BBK LT's with an xpipe, and i have a dynomax cat back (on car when i bought it). it sounds terrible and is way too quiet. people on here think its the mufflers. so.... just wondering how it would sound with straight pipes, since it's so quiet as it is now? Will it sound like crap if i do this? I just want to know if its even worth trying before i go spend $250 on some Flowmaster 40's?

It'll probably sound like an old farm pick up truck.

Straight pipes FTL EVERY set up I've ever heard with straights sounded like farm equipment. Is your X on O/R pipe? If not thats what I would suggest. Otherwise go with a Spintech or Magnapack setup...they are deffinitly NOT quiet What ever you do make sure you use mufflers, they are what give our cars the sound they are famous for

I've seen a few folks on here over the years that liked a straight-pipe sound. I like loud stuff but not that raw - there needs to be some sort of resonator at least.

Don John's exhaust-sound-clip site might have a clip of straight pipes since there was a 94-95 guy who really liked his.

yeah its an O/R x. i kinda thought that it wouldnt sound good, but i have never heard a str8t pipe stang before. just hoping maybe i'd get lucky and save some coin. is dynomax crap? i dont know if ive seen anyone use them on here.... could they be killing my sound that bad? i figured since they're aftermarket they would be more aggressive?

I have the 2.5 dynomax on mine but with a 2.5 o/r pipe and its real loud and I think it sounds great. just change your h-pipe.

Mine are real old, They were too quiet when I got them but everytime I used the nitrous they just kept getting louder!lol

well flowmasters are only about 68$ a piece from jegs. The dynomax catback is killing all your sound!

haha yeah i use straght pipes and my stang dont sound like a john deer, kinda reminds me of old 60s muscle if you ask me it sound ok but the only bad thing with no back pressure i get popping noises realy loud when i let of the gas, its just a pop pop pop ppppop, realy bassy to. also its loud but ive never been bothered by the sound police. if you want flowmasters and want loudness you will have to search for 2 chamber mufflers, now flowmaster dont make 2 chambers anymore so you might get 3-or 4 chambers instead, they are not as loud as the 2 chamber originals. just a thought.
