if you havent worked the heads on the car yet have you? Once you do that it would put you in the 300HP.

Thanks alot everyone! (except for the obvious Chevy lover ) I know I could have bought an LS1 F body, but just because they make 10-15 more HP doesnt mean they are faster. My car is a few hunderd pounds light than them. F bodys are nice looking cars, but im a Ford guy and I have to represent. GTs have a bad rep on the highway against LS1s, and machs...so thats why im here to even it up a bit . I REALLY like being the under dog, whats he going to think when he looks in his mirror to see how many lengths he has on me and then looks over and im like "IM STILL HERE!!!! HAHAHA" and then just drive away from him? BAD, thats how lol. If I get beat, so what...hes got 65 CID on me. Thats how I feel about it.

im sure if you had a tuner on site you could have gotten closer. my friend tony hit 305 i think with stock heads and lower intake and shorties, but he had stage 2 VTs and Chris Johnson tuning it. You want me to find the thread?

here it is anyway:

Congrats! It's time for you to get blown! Then maybe you'll make that 16 sec pass like I did.

Good Job...nice soundtrac too!! Just out of curiosity, why did you opt for the stage 1 cams? Seems like stage 2 would have put you right where you wanted to be. Would the stage 2 cams require additional headwork or some other mod to work properly?

Yea cuz A/F is only a part of the equasion, so im sure it could have done better with another tune, but im very happy with it .
And well, i decided not to go blown....im going all out N/A with this car. 324 CID BB/stroker, 10.5-1, STG 3 MPH heads, most likely some VT stg 3 cams. Basically after I pay the car off, im going to start assembling the motor slowly as I can afford it (should be able to dedicate 1K a month), im going to TRY and make 400RWHP N/A. And to help it along, im going to up the belt size and add on a vaccume pump then too, that lower intake port matched to the heads ect, ect. I realized that i dont need 600+RWHP lol, and didnt want to drop 8K + JUST on the 2.2 KB and instal. then I would do heads/cams too...just way to much at one time ya know.

And Dave, I really didnt want to mess with the valve springs (required change with stg 2s), and the best shift point would be about 6500 with them. With this stock lowend, thats not a good idea. + for now they loose quite a bit of lowend grunt over the stg 1s and would only have gained HP past about 4500, and it may have bumped 300...but according to Scott @ VT, the gain is very minimul (maybe 10 up top) with stock heads and he reccomends stg 1s to most with stock headed 2Vs.
Thats where the BB/Stroker comes in on my new setup that should nearly make up for the loss of bottomend HP/TQ with those big cams.

Edit Jacky, I looked at the thread...those #s are rediculusly high, the problem is "its a mustang dyno setup to run like a dyno jet" WTH is that? thats what makes me leary of the #s. The 335RWTQ is whats getting me LOL, I know of big cammed/head/high CR 2Vs that dont make that much torque.
I seen this on his members page, "Aug, 2004: Just added the VT Stage 2 cams, picked up 27.8 rwhp @ peak and 35 rwhp @ 5900 rpms! 291 rwhp 306 tq Thanks VT!" Which sounds about right for no LTs, then he goes to THIS dyno and makes 294/317 right of the bat, seems strange that he somehow picked that much torque up with no tune inbetween . The torque is the main thing, Hp is probably about right. No way a 2V will make that much torque. I dont like mustang dynos for comparing #s, cuz they are always different....especially one setup to do something it wasnt designed to do.

Nice numbers, but remember a M6 LS1 on a Dynojet should be making 310-320rwhp.

BTW - what does your car weigh? Using Google there seems to be quite a descrepancy for the 99-04 Mustangs in terms of weight.

***UPDATE!*** Well it didnt quite do 300, but im still VERY happy with the #s! Made 292RWHP/308RWTQ! The graph and videa are in my latest post.
Car has like every bolton (e water pump, U/Ds, windage trey, LTs, O/R X, cat back, CAI, TB, plenum, Tims tune, and VT cams).
Im thinking if I had the stock rear tires/rims and the stock 3.27s, it would have been VERY close to 300, but like I said I AM HAPPY! And very glad to see that my A/F is dead on still. SOOO I added windage trey, BBK LTs, U/D pullys, and a electric WP after Tims tune, and it went from 274/292 to 292/308 and A/F was uneffected. Apparently LTs DONT screw up the A/F .
And who was it that was closest? Spreadman I think? He guessed 292/310 if im not mistaken. Good job man, you know your stuff...thats fo ****zle! *Bush voice* "but make no mistake about it...I WILL hit 300RWHP with the stock heads if its the last thing I do!" *Bush voice* lol

you do not have avery bolt on. the power is in your exhaust.

headers to exit can be better. i will elaborate later. there is a significant amount still there. without losing any torque. cost depends on how much extra power you want. later guys. -bill

Ah yes once again 300bhp/ton comes to the front letting us know what the LS1 does.

talk is cheap.

to elaborate a little....

you have three choices to get more out of the exhaust.

1. flat crank and fire cylinders in pairs to get 360 degree pulses from exhaust.

2. fashion 360 degree header.(one tube crosses from one bank to the other).

3. (only real option) somewhat custom headers(and exhaust) with at least one step: somewhat because it will require using 2 sets of headers plus primary extensions, and slip on collectors, and collector extensions, then mufflers. you said you wanted it all. it won't be so bad to construct. you already have one set you will need.

headers 201 to come after i get home.(headers 101 was a post a few days ago).

hot...i do agree that his torque number is high, but he has the track times to back up the power. now its got heads/4r70w stalled/longtubes and at full weight ran 11.9s @112+ on a stock suspension save for LCA's

this is the same guy that went 12.9 on street tires/stock gears and boltons :lmao:
